Job description

  • Provide daily desktop support for Windows systems and peripherals across 140+ computer systems supporting the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU), keeping equipment performing reliably in a global operating environment.
  • Perform hardware troubleshooting and repair for desktops, laptops, printers, and accessories, including complex target systems, so AMU teams can train ahead of competitive shooting matches.
  • Provision and set up new devices, including standard system builds, hardware/software configuration, and computer imaging using PXE (network) and USB deployment methods.
  • Install, update, and provide user support for software applications, resolving application and configuration issues.
  • Configure and support mobile devices, including email and security setup.
  • Manage user accounts across GOTS and COTS applications and systems, including account creation, modification, and deactivation.
  • Enter, document, track, and resolve trouble tickets through Army ticketing systems, create and maintain related knowledge articles, and meet first-contact and 72-hour resolution timeliness standards.
  • Coordinate hardware lifecycle replacement and equipment turn-in in support of asset accountability and technology refresh planning.
  • Provide user support and basic training on IT best practices to promote secure and efficient system use.

Requirements

Security Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance. A favorable National Agency Check with Local Agency and Credit Check (NACLC/SF-86) supporting IT-II access is required for Common Access Card (CAC) issuance and network access. Certifications: Must possess Security+ CE or another DoD 8570.01-M / 8140 IAT Level II baseline certification, or obtain one within 30 days of starting employment., * 1 3 years of hands-on IT support experience, including desktop support, hardware troubleshooting, and system imaging.

  • Demonstrated experience with Windows operating systems, imaging tools (PXE and USB deployment), and structured troubleshooting workflows.
  • Must register in the Army Training Certification Tracking System (ATCTS) and complete DoD Information Assurance Awareness training prior to system access and annually thereafter, in accordance with DoDD 8570.01-M and AR 25-2.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting military or government IT environments.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Army systems, GOTS/COTS applications, and DoD compliance requirements (AR 25-1, AR 25-2).
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
  • Minimum Citizenship Status Requirements: US Citizen
