Job description
- Responsible for the overall coordination of all IT-related projects or programs within a particular department or associated initiatives within the Office of Enterprise Information Technology Security, reporting to the IT-PMO.
- Provides a high-level program view that highlights the health of each initiative and enables Leadership to take action around anticipated risks, opportunities for acceleration, and key decision points.
- Manages the end-to-end lifecycle of multiple projects, from initial scoping, authoring of project management artefacts (Project Charter, RACI, Communication and Stakeholder plans etc) as well as ongoing risk assessment to implementation and operational cutover.
- Works with sponsors, project managers, and other teams throughout the organization as well as consultants and key stakeholders to accurately portray and communicate challenges and opportunities of individual projects to departmental leadership.
- Acts as a subject matter expert and liaison between technical resources and faculty as new initiatives are being planned, developed and launched.
- Works to ensure faculty have appropriate options, including their respective challenges and benefits, for consideration.
- Follows the EPMO framework and required documentation for all projects.
- May participate in writing and reviewing SOWs, RFPs, and other such contracts with external vendors.
- Prepares weekly status reports, and other documents or presentations as necessary for Executive or Leadership review including roadmaps, portfolio and budget reports.
- Contributes to project teams of major initiatives, primarily with project management or business analyst skills.
- Establishes standards for use across projects to facilitate a common analysis of data elements and project variables.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in IT or related field, and seven years of experience managing IT projects and portfolios specifically complex system integrations, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- PMP Certification required.
- Must have technical experience supporting various in-house and vendor applications.
- Experience in a Higher Education IT Department and/or Healthcare environment is preferred.
