Job description

We’re looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead high-visibility subscription and identity initiatives that span multiple organizations across Amazon Music and partner teams. This person will own some of our most strategically important programs across the full breadth of identity and subscription: customer identity and account architecture, subscription growth, billing, retention, and monetization, including initiatives that lean into compliance.

You’ll operate at the intersection of deeply technical systems, business strategy, and executive-level decision-making, coordinating engineering, product, marketing, legal, and business stakeholders across org boundaries to deliver at scale. Programs range from net-new identity and subscription capabilities, to growth and monetization initiatives, to compliance-driven efforts, and you’ll be trusted to drive whichever matters most to the business.

This is a role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves fluidly between technical depth and executive strategy, and can align dozens of stakeholders across different leadership chains toward a shared outcome that affects millions of customers.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead cross-org programs across the full breadth of identity and subscription, from customer identity and account architecture to subscription growth, billing, retention, and monetization, owning delivery from strategy through launch.

  • Drive high-visibility initiatives with regular exposure to senior leadership; author and present program strategy, status, and risk and mitigation narratives to executives.

  • Define and manage program roadmaps, translating business goals into clear technical milestones, dependencies, and delivery plans.

  • Align product, marketing, and business organizations on shared outcomes and customer experience, ensuring identity and subscription experiences work end-to-end across the funnel (sign-up, billing, renewal, cancellation, and account management).

  • Coordinate across organizational boundaries, aligning engineering, product, marketing, legal, and business stakeholders who report through different leadership chains.

  • Identify and unblock risks proactively, anticipating dependencies, escalating decisively, and keeping programs on track against their timelines.

  • Establish mechanisms (operating cadences, status and risk tracking, decision and escalation frameworks) that scale across teams and make delivery predictable and transparent.

  • Lead compliance and regulatory initiatives, translating requirements into technical milestones and partnering with Legal and Privacy, as part of the broader identity and subscription portfolio.

  • Partner with engineering leaders on technical trade-offs, architecture, and feasibility for identity, subscription, and billing systems.

About the team

You’ll join the Subscription & Identity organization within Marketing and Growth Technology at Amazon Music. Our teams build the systems behind how customers discover, sign up for, and stay subscribed to Amazon Music, along with the identity and account foundations those experiences depend on.

We sit at the center of the business, partnering closely with product, marketing, engineering, and business teams across Amazon Music and the broader company. The work spans the full customer journey, from how someone first creates an account and starts a subscription, to how they’re billed, retained, and managed over time. Because our systems touch millions of customers and connect so many organizations, the programs we run are highly visible and directly tied to the growth of the business.

Requirements

5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design

  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps

  • Experience communicating effectively with senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience defining KPI’s/SLA’s used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

  • Experience leading highly technical programs involving infrastructure, complex systems, systems engineering

  • Experience delivering subscription growth, retention, or monetization initiatives.
