Through hands-on engagement, proven operator strategies, and responsible integration of modern technologies, Cosyn helps hospitals improve cash flow, reduce administrative friction, and implement sustainable operational improvements that endure., The Team Lead, Revenue Cycle & Operations serves as a frontline leader responsible for supporting daily execution across both revenue cycle and operational service line workflows. This role combines work queue prioritization, workflow adherence, quality review, training reinforcement, escalation tracking, and vendor output visibility to help ensure Specialists and vendor partners execute work accurately, timely, and in alignment with client and organizational priorities.

The Team Lead, Revenue Cycle & Operations operates with a balanced revenue cycle and operational execution mindset, using AR, denials, backlog, productivity, workflow adherence, QA, SLA, and escalation trends to identify issues, reinforce expectations, and escalate barriers. This role supports both RCM and Operations leadership by connecting daily work activity to measurable outcomes and consistent service delivery.

Success in this role is defined by the ability to support accurate execution, reduce backlog and errors, improve escalation resolution, reinforce training and SOP adherence, provide reliable performance visibility, and help stabilize day-to-day operations across assigned functions.

Scope of Responsibility

  • Daily revenue cycle and operational workflow execution across assigned service lines
  • AR, denials, backlog, and work queue prioritization support
  • Workflow adherence, SOP compliance, quality review, and documentation accuracy
  • Specialist direction, training reinforcement, and performance support
  • Vendor output visibility, SLA monitoring, and escalation follow-up
  • Operational issue tracking, root cause visibility, and process improvement support

Core Responsibilities

Daily Execution & Priority Management

  • Coordinate daily priorities across assigned revenue cycle and operational workflows to ensure work is completed accurately, timely, and against the right priorities
  • Direct Specialists and vendors on work queue expectations, escalation items, backlog needs, SLA considerations, and documentation requirements
  • Prioritize work using a combination of aged inventory, account value, denial risk, turnaround time expectations, client impact, and operational urgency
  • Maintain visibility into daily work completion, unresolved barriers, and areas requiring leadership support
  • Ensure execution is tied to measurable outcomes, not only task completion

RCM Performance & Work Queue Support

  • Support AR prioritization, denial tracking, backlog monitoring, productivity visibility, and follow-up accuracy across assigned revenue cycle functions
  • Identify denial trends, aged work, recurring documentation issues, payer-related barriers, and workflow gaps that impact revenue cycle performance
  • Provide updates to RCM leadership on backlog risks, denial resolution concerns, productivity gaps, and vendor or Specialist performance patterns
  • Reinforce standard work for revenue cycle follow-up, documentation, escalation, and prioritization routines
  • Support corrective action follow-up when revenue cycle work is not aligned to performance expectations

Operational Quality, Training, & SOP Adherence

  • Monitor workflow adherence, SOP compliance, QA results, error trends, and documentation quality across assigned operational functions
  • Lead training reinforcement for Specialists and vendors on workflow expectations, service standards, escalation processes, and quality requirements
  • Provide timely coaching and feedback to improve consistency, accuracy, and ownership
  • Escalate recurring errors, training gaps, workflow confusion, or process breakdowns with clear examples and recommended support
  • Support onboarding, job aid updates, templates, checklists, and documentation tools that improve execution quality

Escalation, Vendor Output, & Issue Resolution

  • Track escalations, open issues, vendor output concerns, resolution timelines, repeat issues, and follow-up commitments
  • Coordinate with Specialists, vendors, managers, and client-facing resources to ensure issues move toward timely resolution
  • Support root cause visibility by documenting the issue, contributing factors, operational impact, and recommended next steps
  • Monitor vendor productivity, quality, SLA adherence, turnaround times, and alignment to assigned priorities
  • Escalate high-risk issues early with clear context, performance impact, and recommended action

Reporting Support & Process Improvement

  • Support daily, weekly, or monthly performance routines by maintaining trackers, issue logs, examples, and operational updates as assigned
  • Provide clear visibility into backlog, denials, productivity, QA, SLA, escalation, and workflow adherence trends
  • Identify opportunities to improve work prioritization, SOP clarity, training materials, escalation handling, tracker design, and workflow consistency
  • Recommend practical process improvements that reduce rework, improve timeliness, strengthen accuracy, and support sustainable execution
  • Partner with RCM and Operations leadership to reinforce process changes and confirm adoption across assigned workstreams

Requirements

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in revenue cycle operations, healthcare operations, call center operations, vendor-supported service delivery, quality review, training coordination, or related administrative workflows
  • Working knowledge of accounts receivable, denials, work queue management, workflow adherence, SOP compliance, escalation tracking, quality review, and basic operational reporting
  • Experience supporting productivity tracking, backlog management, QA reviews, issue tracking, team direction, or training reinforcement
  • Ability to coach Specialists, reinforce expectations, coordinate with vendors, escalate barriers, and support daily execution across multiple workstreams
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear updates, document risks, and support process adoption

Preferred

  • Experience working with rural, community, or critical access hospitals
  • Experience working with vendor-supported RCM or operational service lines
  • Experience using dashboards, trackers, Smartsheet, Excel, EHR work queues, ticketing systems, QA tools, or workflow systems to monitor work and performance
