Job Title: Azure Data Solutions Architect (Onsite) Location: Washington, DC Duration: 03 Months with possible extension Job Description: The client is seeking an experienced Azure Data Solutions Architect with significant expertise in the design, development, and optimization of our enterprise level analytical data platform solutions. This top-level role will be instrumental in architecting scalable, reliable, and high-performance data systems that support critical business applications and analytics. The ideal candidate will be a data expert, capable of translating complex business requirements into robust technical solutions, mentoring junior developers, and driving data strategies across the organization. Key Responsibilities Database Architecture & Design: Lead the design and implementation of complex, scalable data architectures (relational and potentially NoSQL), including schemas, tables, views, and indexing strategies, ensuring data integrity and consistency. Responsible for designing and gaining approval on data architecture decisions, data modeling approaches, design standards, development tools and lifecycle practices that has row level security based on Azure data analytics platform. Performance Optimization: Serve as the primary expert for performance tuning and optimization of all SQL queries, stored procedures, and database configurations, utilizing advanced tools (e.g., SQL Server Profiler) to identify and resolve bottlenecks in high-volume environments. ETL and Data Pipelines: Architect, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines to facilitate data migration, transformation, and integration from various sources into data lakehouse and warehouse on Azure technology stack. Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, perform code reviews, and mentor junior and mid-level developers on best practices for SQL development, data modeling, and database management. Data Governance & Security: Define and enforce database security measures, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard critical data and ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Proactively monitor and troubleshoot the most complex database issues, providing high-level support and implementing permanent solutions to ensure minimal downtime and disruption. Documentation & Standards: Champion a culture of comprehensive documentation for database architectures, processes, and operational procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability. Required Qualifications and Skills Experience: 15+ years of proven experience (Master Level) of delivering high quality, complex technology solutions in commercial and government organizations; delivering state-of-the-art data analytics platforms and enterprise applications; and senior level understanding of health care management systems; and working with senior executives. Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical and complex problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences, and a proactive, leadership-oriented mindset.
