Job description

The Senior Software Engineer, C&I is a key member of the Commercial & Industrial Team responsible for managing non-residential demand response programs. This role focuses on designing and developing scalable and flexible platform features that support the organization’s mission to create a sustainable and efficient energy grid. The position involves leading technical initiatives, collaborating across teams, and delivering high-quality software solutions that accommodate complex, real-world constraints., * Design and implement core platform features addressing multiple constraints and use cases.

  • Lead technical initiatives in React and provide front-end development best practices.
  • Develop front-end and back-end solutions with an emphasis on maintainable, tested code.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineering teams, and stakeholders.
  • Develop creative solutions that enhance platform flexibility and scalability.
  • Contribute to best practices in CI/CD, data modeling, and iterative development.
  • Mentor and support engineers, fostering a collaborative technical culture.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of professional software engineering experience with senior-level responsibilities.
  • Senior experience with React (preferably React 19) and Java (preferably Java 11+).
  • Experience with web services, RESTful APIs, and contract-driven development.
  • Strong full-stack development skills, including backend, frontend, and relational database modeling.
  • Proficiency in automated testing frameworks such as Jest and JUnit.
  • Strong SQL and relational database knowledge.
  • Effective problem-solving skills balancing multiple use cases.
  • Technical project management skills to translate requirements into successful outcomes.
  • Ability to operate autonomously and provide technical vision.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and full-stack engineering.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Springboot, Maven, Python.
  • Familiarity with S3, MongoDB, AWS, DBT, Snowflake.
  • Experience with highly configurable software products.
