Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager to support executive leadership in driving enterprise-wide datacenter initiatives across the University of California system. This role will lead strategic programs involving High Performance Computing (HPC), AI infrastructure, compute, storage, networking, and cloud technologies, while collaborating with executive stakeholders, technology teams, finance, procurement, and external vendors., * Lead enterprise-wide datacenter initiatives related to HPC, AI, storage, compute, and infrastructure.

  • Develop business cases, initiative charters, operating models, and funding strategies.
  • Evaluate datacenter architectures, HPC platforms, AI infrastructure, and vendor solutions.
  • Analyze technology investments, risks, dependencies, and implementation strategies.
  • Perform financial planning, including TCO, ROI, budgeting, licensing, and vendor pricing analysis.
  • Prepare executive presentations, reports, and governance documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Technology, Finance, Operations, Procurement, Security, Legal, and Compliance.
  • Drive executive communications and present strategic recommendations to leadership.
  • Translate complex technical and financial concepts into business-friendly language.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience leading enterprise-scale Datacenter, Cloud, or High Performance Computing (HPC) initiatives.
  • Hands-on knowledge of:
  • HPC & GPU Computing
  • AI/ML Infrastructure
  • Enterprise Storage & Compute
  • High-Speed Networking
  • Kubernetes & Container Orchestration
  • Virtualization
  • Cloud Platforms
  • Experience developing programs from concept through implementation.
  • Strong financial analysis skills including TCO, ROI, budgeting, and vendor pricing evaluation.
  • Experience managing large cross-functional enterprise programs.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience working with technology vendors, procurement, and contract evaluations.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Experience creating governance frameworks, operating models, strategic roadmaps, and performance metrics.
