Job description
Our Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Experimental Lab (X-Lab), is responsible for developing and integrating future-capability prototypes including Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development and other critical leading-edge missile defense technologies for the Missile Defense System that currently protects the United States and its allies. The team consists of many small agile teams that work together in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
The Work The Infrastructure Events Lead System Administrator’s primary responsibility is to support the development and integration of a prototype lined mission suite to be introduced in a flight or ground test. This includes working with and managing a team to work each aspect of the suite buildout and verifying its ability to fully support the test. The Infrastructure Events Lead System Administrator is responsible for supporting the integration of the XLAB infrastructure during each event as well as responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the Windows/Linux environment and for backup and recovery of system data.
Please Note:
- This position requires a government security clearance at the Secret level; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
- This position is located at Schriever, Space Force Base 10 miles east of Colorado Springs, CO and is 100% onsite.
- Occasional off-hours work will be required during event execution
Requirements
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced candidate to join our team. The successful candidate will need to utilize good communication skills and good organizational skills to facilitate collaboration across the many organizations necessary to accomplish challenging missions., * Active Final SECRET clearance required for consideration
- Experience with both Linux and Windows Server/Active Directory administration
- Experience with system hardening using industry best practices such as Security-Enhanced (SE) Linux
- Experience writing Linux shell scripts
- Experience with Ansible playbook development or other competing automation solutions
Desired Skills:
- Experience implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- Multi-Factor Authentication implementation like Identity, Policy Audit (IPA) or Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS)
- Experience working within a hyperconverged infrastructure such as VMware ESXI or Nutanix
- Experience with backup and recovery technologies
- Experience creating container and container orchestration solutions
- An understanding of software development processes and principles.
- Knowledge dev tools like Git, Nexus, Jenkins, Jira and Confluence
- Experience with Network troubleshooting using tools such as netstat and TCP dump
- Experience with C2BMC Integration
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements and design challenges that require novel solutions, fast-paced activities, and tight deadlines.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $99,700 - $175,835. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
