Technical Program Managers in the Product/Project Management (Technical) stream are responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of engineering projects and systems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and overseeing the creation of requirements, functional specifications, database design, and technical architecture. Technical Program Managers utilize project management tools to plan, execute, monitor, and control projects, effectively managing resources, budgets, timelines, and quality. The position emphasizes stakeholder collaboration to drive successful outcomes in engineering and operational projects, fostering an inclusive and innovative environment.
All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work. Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Define requirements, create functional specifications, and oversee database design and technical architecture.
- Utilize project management tools to plan, execute, monitor, and control projects.
- Manage resources, budgets, timelines, and quality for engineering and operational projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to drive successful outcomes and foster innovation.
- Oversee the technology development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality features and enhancements.
- Define and track key performance metrics to measure success and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure products comply with relevant regulations and security standards.
- Coach engineering teams on Agile/Scrum/Lean principles and practices.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience., * 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD.
- Experience in developing and maintaining technology product roadmaps.
- Experience in writing user stories and grooming product backlogs.
- Experience in coordinating and prioritizing conflicting requirements in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Experience in working in an agile environment.
- Experience in providing technical guidance and leadership to engineering teams.
- Experience in managing resources, budgets, timelines, and quality for engineering projects.
- Experience in defining and tracking key performance metrics.
- Experience in ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and security standards.
- Experience in coaching teams on Agile/Scrum/Lean principles and practices.
- Experience in loyalty functions including rewards programs, offer management, partnership management, customer engagement, integration with e-commerce platforms, communication and outreach, analytics and reporting, and travel portal buildout.
- Experience in developing roadmaps and leading technical integration of product offerings.
- Experience in gathering and analyzing client feedback to inform product enhancements.
- Experience in creating data-driven business solutions using a wide variety of technologies.
- Experience in leading and organizing events supporting innovation within the sub-function.

$146,200.00 to $ 233,700.00 life insurance, paid time off, 401(k) United States, California, Foster City 900 Metro Center Boulevard (Show on map) Jul 31, 2026, The estimated salary range for this positionis $146,200.00 to $ 233,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
