DevOps Engineer

The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for supporting and implementing DevOps capabilities to support a large web application development effort for a federal client. The candidate will ensure Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) controls and processes are followed for application code released into non-production and production environments. Candidate should have experience with container application platforms / Platform as a Service (PaaS), including OpenShift. The ideal candidate will be a jack of all trades technologist with the ability to pick up new skills quickly., Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience. The compensation displayed for this role is a general guideline based on these factors and is unique to each role. Monetary compensation is one component of ASM’s overall compensation and benefits package for employees.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, other relevant field, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Advanced computing certification preferred.

• 5-10 years of experience in Systems Engineering/Analysis

Other Job Specific Skills

• 2+ years’ experience using Java development tools (e.g., Eclipse, JUnit, Git)

• 2+ years of work experience with Web development technologies (JavaScript, HTML, JSP, etc.)

• 1+ years’ experience using Kubernetes

• 1+ years’ experience using OpenShift

• Must be able to provide ad hoc support after standard business hours and over the weekend

• Ability to report onsite 2-3x a week in Columbia, MD

• Final DoD Secret Security Clearance

• Ability to elicit, analyze, document, and validate the system requirements that support the required system changes to meet the business need.

• Must have the ability to work under aggressive deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize as necessary.

• Strong skills in IT fundamentals including, but not limited to: server administration, networking, database support/administration, infrastructure support, and IT security design.

• Demonstrated ability to provision, install, configure, operate, and maintain systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.

• Ability to work with various programming languages, operating systems, and computer hardware platforms.

• Proven ability to investigate, troubleshoot and resolve complicated technical issues.

• Demonstrated capability to creatively solve complex requirements needs.
