Job description
STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking an Event Management Triage Engineer / Systems Administrator on behalf of our client in Austin, TX. This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced IT operations professional with strong systems administration, monitoring, and incident management expertise. The selected candidate will support enterprise event monitoring and major incident response activities, helping identify, analyze, and resolve technology issues across complex infrastructure and application environments. The role involves working within an Enterprise Command Center (ECC) environment to monitor critical systems, perform incident triage, collaborate with technical teams, and improve operational processes through effective monitoring, analysis, and documentation. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor enterprise systems, applications, and infrastructure to identify, analyze, and respond to performance issues and critical events.
- Perform real-time incident triage by analyzing alerts, system data, and performance metrics across multiple monitoring platforms.
- Support major incident management activities by coordinating with application, system, network, and operations teams.
- Investigate alerts, determine impact, and escalate issues to appropriate support teams based on established procedures.
- Configure and optimize monitoring tools, alert thresholds, and event management processes to reduce false positives.
- Analyze performance trends and provide recommendations to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
- Support troubleshooting across Windows, Unix/Linux, and enterprise technology environments.
- Maintain documentation, update knowledge base articles, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams supporting enterprise applications, cloud environments, and infrastructure services.
- Participate in scheduled support coverage, including weekends, holidays, or after-hours support as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field with 5+ years of professional IT experience, or 13+ years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration, IT operations, and enterprise infrastructure support.
- Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise-scale applications and platforms.
- Experience supporting major incident response, change management, and operational performance activities.
- Hands-on experience with application performance monitoring (APM) tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting Windows and Unix/Linux environments, with exposure to enterprise infrastructure technologies.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies, including AWS or Azure, containers, and SaaS/PaaS environments.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools, particularly ServiceNow or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting healthcare IT environments or large enterprise technology operations.
- Experience coordinating virtual teams and distributed support resources.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and modern enterprise monitoring solutions.
