Job description
Our client ? a major transportation authority headquartered in central NJ ? is looking for a PeopleSoft Technical Specialist, that can work with management to support various integration, migration, advanced development, and architectural projects. This is a long-term project, and details are listed below:
Scope of responsibilities / duties: ? Participates in the feasibility analysis for new systems/applications to determine how applications and processes can be improved. ? May serve as a technical lead on small-to-mid sized projects. Mentors to less experienced staff. ? Monitors the operating efficiency of existing application systems and provides (or arranges for) proactive maintenance to prevent application or system issues. ? Provides and/or arranges for technical support and problem resolution for client inquiries and to resolve production issues. ? Participates in user training as appropriate, on new or revised systems/applications. ? Commits to deliverables for scope of work with clients, vendors and/or management. ? Makes modifications to jobs and schedules for jobs in production. ? Feedback to management on changing methodologies/standard operating procedures, as appropriate. ? Work with the functional specialists to review the business requirements to develop functional design documents. ? Creates and or modifies methodologies/standard operating procedures, as appropriate. May be seen as a subject matter expert on some methodologies. Makes recommendations to management regarding technology investments for their area. ? Provides recommendations on vendor selection. Negotiates terms and conditions with vendors. ? Conducts complete diagnosis of most business problems, factoring in a strong understanding of the technical architecture. ? Develops a user training plan for new or revised systems/applications, leveraging vendors and business resources as appropriate to streamline new user or new application adoption. ? Plays a leadership role in the feasibility analysis for new systems/applications including understanding implications for the current and future architecture to determine how applications and processes can be improved.
Requirements
? Solid development and support experience with PeopleSoft ERP including recent experience with PeopleSoft9.2, tools 8.55 and up ? Expert in various PS Technology including, Application Package, Workflow, Integration Broker, PeopleSoft Portal, Security Administration, and Fluid administration ? Domain agnostic troubleshooting skills - this role involves development, enhancements and application support ? Overall knowledge of IT audit and SOD requirements. ? Experience with Oracle and SQL commands, cron scripting, sftp, ssh, Unix and Windows server basics. ? Experience developing and troubleshooting Web Services/Res API/ JMS integrations with third party. ? Experience in fit-gap analysis and retrofit during PeopleSoft Upgrades. ? Testing expertise - ideally performing Functional, System, Regression, Performance, Integration, End to End, and User Acceptance Testing. ? Expert level troubleshooting skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve problems involving all aspects of functional and technical PeopleSoft system.
Also: ? Ability to participate in the technical design of projects that anticipate and proactively address roadblocks and obstacles. ? Ability to conduct complete diagnosis of most business problems, factoring in a strong understanding of the technical architecture. ? Ability to facilitate design sessions by presenting logical statements of business problems and designs and offering and incorporating ideas. ? Demonstrates expert understanding of all relevant application development processes including the Project Execution Process, serving as a resource to others. ? Understands architectural issues, and factors them into decisions and recommendations - having the ability âto see the bigger pictureâ. ? Ability to gather user requirements, review functional design specifications and create technical design specifications. ? Ability to lead technical design sessions, contributing novel insights to address business problems. ? Demonstrates a broad understanding of the applications and technical architectures related to their area(s). ? Ability to serve as a technical expert on existing applications supporting the business area, along with other inter-related / adjacent systems and application.
