The team values collaboration, accountability, thoughtful decision-making, and continuous improvement., A large, diversified organization is seeking an IT Finance Manager to support the financial planning, analysis, capital management, and vendor operations of its enterprise technology function.
This position serves as an important bridge between Technology, Finance, Procurement, and external vendor partners. The IT Finance Manager will provide financial visibility across operating and capital expenditures, oversee the financial lifecycle of technology investments, support vendor and contract processes, and identify opportunities to improve reporting and procurement workflows.
The ideal candidate combines strong financial analysis skills with an understanding of technology operations, capital projects, and vendor management. This is a highly collaborative role for someone who can translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Financial Planning and Analysis Prepare monthly P&L, G&A, and financial reports for senior technology leadership. Develop and present monthly forecasts and variance analyses across operating and capital expenditures. Monitor technology budgets, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions. Perform ROI, cost-benefit, and financial impact analyses for technology projects and strategic initiatives. Support annual budgeting and long-range planning activities. Assist with capital planning through financial modeling, research, business case validation, and fund-release coordination. Provide ad hoc reporting and financial insights to support leadership decision-making. Capital Project Financial Management Oversee the financial lifecycle of technology capital projects, from initial budget submission through project completion. Partner with project leaders to place orders, track spending, and maintain accurate financial records. Monitor project expenses, timelines, forecasts, and available funding. Ensure capital expenditures are properly documented, classified, and aligned with accounting and governance requirements. Identify potential budget risks and work with stakeholders to resolve issues before they affect project delivery. Vendor and Contract Financial Management Partner with Vendor Management, Procurement, Finance, and technology leaders to support contract renewals, maintenance agreements, vendor payments, and purchase requests. Coordinate the creation, approval, and issuance of purchase orders. Monitor purchase-order transmission, invoicing, payment status, and vendor communications. Reconcile vendor charges and investigate billing or contractual discrepancies. Help ensure technology purchases follow established procurement, financial, and approval processes. Maintain visibility into vendor spending, contractual commitments, and upcoming renewals. Process Improvement and Automation Evaluate current financial, procurement, invoicing, and reporting processes to identify inefficiencies. Develop and implement automation opportunities that improve accuracy, visibility, and turnaround times. Standardize workflows, reporting methods, and financial controls across the technology organization. Partner with stakeholders to improve the overall experience of submitting, reviewing, and approving financial requests. Support broader digital-transformation and operational-efficiency initiatives. Cross-Functional Partnership Build strong working relationships across Technology, Finance, Procurement, Vendor Management, Accounting, and project teams. Translate financial concepts and requirements into practical guidance for technology stakeholders. Help connect operational priorities with financial objectives and governance requirements. Communicate risks, trends, and recommendations clearly to leaders at multiple levels of the organization. Manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and strong stakeholder service.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Three to five years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, procurement, or vendor and contract management. Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, budgeting, and variance analysis. Experience supporting operating and capital expenditures within a complex organization. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, deadlines, and competing priorities. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting. Experience with Apptio, Oracle ERP, Smart View, or comparable financial platforms is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial audiences. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability. A process-improvement mindset with an interest in automation and digital transformation. Experience supporting a technology-driven or enterprise IT environment is strongly preferred.
