Job description

We are actively hiring an experienced z/OS Systems Administrator for a 100% Remote, 12+ month contract. If you have strong IBM Mainframe infrastructure experience and expertise in hardware configuration and I/O management, we’d love to hear from you!, * Administer and support IBM z/OS mainframe environments.

Manage mainframe hardware configurations using Hardware Configuration Definition (HCD).
Build, maintain, and validate IOCDS (I/O Configuration Data Sets).
Configure and support FICON switches and storage connectivity.
Perform hardware planning, configuration changes, and system upgrades.
Troubleshoot hardware, I/O, and system configuration issues.
Coordinate with infrastructure, storage, and network teams to ensure high availability and performance.
Maintain system documentation and follow enterprise change management processes.

Requirements

Strong experience as a z/OS Systems Administrator or Mainframe System Programmer.
Hands-on expertise with HCD (Hardware Configuration Definition).
Experience building and maintaining IOCDS.
Strong knowledge of FICON switches and IBM Z hardware configuration.
Experience supporting enterprise production mainframe environments.
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills., * Experience with IBM Z enterprise systems.
Knowledge of disaster recovery and capacity planning.
Familiarity with enterprise change management and infrastructure best practices.
