Job description

In this position, you will work on the front end components of the systems we build for our clients. Working with our partner in Berlin, you will help develop and maintain the scripts and interfaces that allow finance professionals to view their data. You will spend time writing clean JavaScript to ensure that dashboards are reliable and responsive. Because our consultants come from senior backgrounds in tools like Oracle EPM and SAP BPC, you will have the chance to see how enterprise data flows from a database into a user interface. This role is not about building simple websites: it is about creating a single source of truth for organizations that depend on accurate reporting. A significant portion of your day will involve technical documentation. We believe that a system is only as good as the manual that comes with it. You will help create configuration guides and handover documents that allow our clients to remain independent once our work is done. We avoid the typical industry habit of creating dependency. Instead, we focus on providing a clear path for the client to manage their own tools. As you build features, you will ensure they are well documented and easy for others to understand.

Requirements

We are looking for someone at the entry level who has a strong grasp of the fundamentals of web development. You should be comfortable working with HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript. We do not expect you to be an expert in every modern framework, but you should understand how to manipulate the DOM and handle data asynchronously. If you have worked on personal projects or completed a degree or bootcamp that focused on these areas, you will have the foundation needed for this role. We value clear thinking and a methodical approach to solving technical problems.

  • Basic proficiency in modern JavaScript, including an understanding of ES6 syntax and asynchronous programming.
  • Familiarity with HTML5 and CSS3 for building structured and clear user interfaces.
  • An interest in data visualization and how complex information can be presented simply.
  • Excellent writing skills, specifically for creating technical documentation and configuration guides.
  • A preference for writing clean, maintainable code rather than using overly complex solutions.
  • The ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while staying aligned with the team.
  • Comfortable learning about financial concepts and how enterprise performance management tools operate.
  • A high level of attention to detail to ensure that data displays are accurate and reliable., This is a permanent, full time position that is fully remote. You will have the opportunity to work from your own environment while collaborating with a team of senior consultants. We offer a work culture that is professional and direct, avoiding the typical corporate buzzwords and high pressure tactics often found in consulting. You will gain experience in a niche but highly valuable sector of the software industry, working on projects that have a direct impact on how large companies manage their finances.

About the company

Alpine Business Consulting is a specialized team that steps in when enterprise performance management and reporting systems fail to deliver. Many companies invest in complex planning tools only to realize the initial implementation was incomplete or poorly handled. This leads to finance teams struggling with inconsistent numbers and long month end close cycles. We fix these systems by providing proper configuration or building new ones that work. Our consultants bring real world experience to every project, focusing on technical honesty and clean data. We are currently supporting a partner in Berlin who needs to improve their financial data visualization and reporting interfaces. This Junior JavaScript Developer position is a full time role where you will contribute to this effort within a fully remote team., The position is paid and the pay is attractive for the entry level market. Beyond the technical work, you will learn the Alpine way of consulting: prioritizing transparency, providing fixed price quotes, and delivering systems that actually work. We provide the training and support you need to understand the complex financial systems we integrate with, ensuring you have the tools to succeed in your tasks. You will be part of a team that values predictable results and technical integrity over flashy, unstable implementations. Alpine Business Consulting operates on the principle that a system should be handed over in a state that the client can actually use. We do not use client projects as a testing ground for unproven technologies. We use what works to solve the problem at hand. By joining our project for the partner in Berlin, you will help us ensure that their finance team has a reporting system they can trust every morning. We focus on the details so that our clients can focus on their business.
