GIS Technical Specialist- Flexible Location in Lower Lake

Provide GIS and database support for the implementation of risk management duties. Responds to queries and resolves technical issues. Leads and/or supports the preparation of annual regulatory reports. Contributes to the company’s initiative to shift to the next- GIS.

n * Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience \n * 3 years of experience with GIS applications. \n * 1 year of experience in ArcGIS 9.x or later., n * Utility or Pipeline industry experience. \n * 1 year experience in ArcGIS Pro 2.9 or later \n * ESRI field app development experience \n * Utility Network data model experience \n * Certified GIS Professional \n * Gas Distribution or Transmission Experience. \n * Integrity Management and Risk Management experience., n o Knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192 \n o Knowledge of PHMSA Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM) [Docket No. PHMSA-2011-0023], “Pipeline Safety: Safety of Gas Transmission Pipelines” \n o 1 year experience in ArcGIS Pro 2.9 or later \n o Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel \n o Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Oracle, or SQL server databases \n o Proficiency in a programming - Shell script, Python, Java, and/or Visual Basic \n o Safety record demonstrating safety is a priority for self and team \n

Traveling expected to be mostly for project meetings or all hands; travel will be primarily to Oakland General Office, Bishop Ranch Building Z (may move to Pleasanton), or San Ramon Valley Conference Center.

Position will require approximately 10% of travel time in work schedule.

\n

\n

Location is flexible within the PG&E Service Territory, please note hiring leader will make final decision of what are appropriate headquarters for the role based on business need.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. \n \n A reasonable salary range is: \n \n Bay Area Minimum:$93,000 \n Bay Area Maximum:$139,000

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. \n \n

\n, n * Provide user support with GIS tools / functionality \n * Provide GIS support and data integration. \n * Gather, integrate, and convert data from various sources into ArcGIS databases \n * Develop and perform data gathering, data integration and quality control procedures for geospatial data, interface with data source systems to resolve issues \n * Respond to requests for GIS queries or maps for special projects. \n * Create and update metadata and catalog GIS layers, including documenting work flow procedures for staff using GIS, both in the office and in the field. \n * Develop and refresh GIS data for PG&E’s external GIS web sites and public outreach programs \n * Support the preparation of annual reports to FERC, (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission), SEC (Security and Exchange Commission), OPS (Office of Pipeline Safety) and CPUC (California Public Utilities Commission). \n * Support enterprise GIS data modeling and data capture initiatives as well as software functionality review. \n * Assess and coordinate GIS software and hardware needs of the department, evaluate new GIS software and databases \n * Work collaboratively with other work groups and vendors, troubleshoot issues, produce technical communication \n * Continually identify opportunities for improvement in the way work is done, share expertise and lessons learned \n * Demonstrate by personal action a 100% commitment to employee and public safety. \n * Accurately identify Safety Critical Elements. \n * Provide integrity assurance input to the Integrity Management Program group.
