Job description

Regular duties of this position will include:Database Administration:Designs, administers, monitors, maintains, and supports enterprise court databases to ensure system availability, reliability, security, and performance. Installs, configures, and maintains database management systems; manages database security, user access, and data integrity; and performs routine maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting. Monitors and optimizes SQL Server environments, including transactional replication, to support enterprise reporting and data warehousing. Plans and implements database patches and upgrades, evaluates infrastructure and capacity needs, and recommends solutions to support current operations and future organizational growth.Database Development:Participates in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise database solutions to support court operations. Designs and optimizes database objects, Transact-SQL (T-SQL) code, and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) ETL processes to ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability. Collaborates with stakeholders to analyze business requirements and develop effective database solutions; performs testing, deployment, and ongoing support; and prepares technical documentation to support system maintenance and knowledge transfer.Project Administration:Serves as the technical lead for database projects and as a senior member of the database administration team, providing leadership in the support, administration, and operation of enterprise database environments. Collaborates with technical staff, business stakeholders, and court personnel to plan and implement database solutions; provides technical guidance, mentoring, and troubleshooting support; promotes database administration standards and best practices; and participates in project committees and cross-functional initiatives to ensure secure, reliable, and effective database services., MULTIPLE VACANCIES NOTICEThis recruitment may be used for more than one (1) vacancy. Requirements

This position is flexibly-staffed. Progression to the higher level will occur when the incumbent: 1) successfully completes a specified training plan; 2) meets all other specified terms of the flexible staffing agreement; 3) meets the minimum qualifications of the higher level; 4) is certified by the supervisor as capable to perform at the higher level; and 5) is approved by the Human Resources Department. When certified, the position may be reclassified to Data Administrator 2, salary range 22 ($4,266.00 bi-weekly). The successful candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  1. Database Administrator experience in Microsoft SQL Server or enterprise class Relational Database Management System (RDMS).
  2. Working knowledge of RDMS architecture.
  3. Advanced experience in SQL programming, Microsoft T-SQL preferred.
  4. RDMS scripting experience for automation and proficient in SSIS or any Extract Transform Load (ETL) tools.
  5. Experience in database performance optimization and tuning.
  6. Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL transactional replications or High Availability (HA) architecture.
  7. Working experience of system and database backup and recovery.

  8. Methodical troubleshooting skills for database solutions.
  9. Experience in RDMS management and monitoring tools.
  10. Experience in Microsoft SQL server is preferred., Two years of database administration experience using a recognized enterprise class database server in Cloud or On-Premise. AND Two years of work experience in database maintenance and development writing T-SQL or scripts for Microsoft SQL or enterprise class Relational Database Management System (RDMS)., A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required four years of experience., If post-secondary education is required to meet the Minimum Qualifications, you must fill in the Education and Training section of the application. If you have not obtained a degree, please indicate the number of credit hours earned in the Degree Obtained field. Copies of transcripts are required to verify educational credentials used to meet or support the minimum qualifications for the position and are required with each application., Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the minimum qualifications listed above. If utilizing this education, you must show that the education credentials have been submitted to a private organization that specializes in the interpretation of foreign educational credentials and that such education has been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs; or an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution reports the other institution as one whose transcript is given full value, or full value is given in subject areas applicable to the curricula at the post-secondary institution. The Work HoursFull-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break.
