Finance Systems Owner

The Finance Team plays a vital role in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring the effective management, and supporting the organisation’s wider objectives.

The team is focused on enhancing business processes, improving reporting capabilities, and supporting data-driven decision making across the organisation.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an ERP Finance Lead to join our client’s finance team. This is a key role responsible for maintaining, developing and optimising the organisation’s finance system. The postholder will ensure the system operates effectively, supports accurate financial management, and contributes to continual process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the ongoing enhancement and optimisation of their ERP financial platform to ensure it supports organisational objectives and finance operations effectively.

Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve system functionality.

Develop and maintain a roadmap for finance system improvements aligned with business needs to achieve maximum value.

Ensure all system developments follow best practice in financial governance and internal controls.

Manage the integration between their ERP and other organisational systems, including third-party applications.

Work with IT teams and external providers to maintain system stability and performance.

Keep informed of technological developments and best practice in financial systems to enhance system capability and efficiency.

Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for system issues, including second and third-line queries.

Design and produce financial reports that meet operational and strategic requirements.

Ensure financial data is accurate, reliable, and available for analysis and decision-making.

Act as the principal contact between the organisation and the finance system provider.

Identify learning needs relating to the use of the finance system.

Conduct performance reviews and support continuous learning within the team.

Strong knowledge of finance operations and accounting practices, ideally supported by a professional finance qualification.

Vast experience with planning, reporting and performance management platforms.

Demonstrated experience improving and developing financial systems and processes.

Significant experience working with finance systems (eg/ Unit4, SAP, Workday).

Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into effective system solutions.

Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

Flexible and adaptable when managing multiple priorities.

Commitment to the organisation’s mission and values.

Strong knowledge on financial processes
