Job description

  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot automation solutions in Linux environments.
  • Create and enhance Bash scripts to automate system administration, application log gathering, metrics displays.
  • Develop and maintain job orchestration tools for data flows
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards and visualizations using Kibana.
  • Support Elasticsearch data ingestion, indexing, and search optimization activities.
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, developers, and mission stakeholders to gather requirements and implement solutions.
  • Assist with log analysis, troubleshooting, and operational reporting.
  • Document automation processes, procedures, and technical configurations.
  • Participate in system testing, deployment, and sustainment activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to monitoring, observability, and automation.

Requirements

SOC is seeking a motivated Engineer to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of automated monitoring, metrics data collection, and real time dashboards within a mission-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Linux-based systems, scripting with Bash, and building operational dashboards using the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana). This role is well-suited for a junior to mid-level engineer looking to expand their automation and observability expertise while supporting critical national security missions., * Active TS/SCI security clearance.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Security+ Certification
  • 2-5 years of experience in systems engineering, automation, DevOps, software development or related technical roles.
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar).
  • Proficiency in Bash scripting for automation and system administration tasks.
  • Experience with the ELK Stack, including:
  • Elasticsearch
  • Kibana dashboard development
  • Logstash or data ingestion pipelines
  • Familiarity with system monitoring, log aggregation, and operational analytics.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, operating systems, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
  • Experience supporting cloud or hybrid environments.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices.
  • Experience working in DoD, Intelligence Community, or other classified environments.
  • Experience working in Agile development.
