Job description

Are you looking for IT opportunities that challenge you? If so, the Town of Oro Valley is looking for you. This position will support the Town of Oro Valley, including the Oro Valley Police Department. In this position, you will work in a fast-paced environment and use your technical and soft skills to support the Town’s operations. This position will interact regularly with Town departments, external agencies and contractors in conveying technical information. The ideal candidate for this position must maintain a professional demeanor and be able to communicate courteously and effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Under general supervision, provides technical support of software, hardware, operating systems, mobile devices, and other common office user devices and/or peripherals., * Provides excellent customer service and technical support to staff, including installing, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining computer, phone, and tablet hardware and software.

  • Installs and maintains computers, workstations, and operating systems.
  • Supports council meetings in an audio and visual capacity.
  • Responds quickly and effectively to incoming tickets, ensuring service level targets are met.
  • Works on projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written communication.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and follow up on work assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, Town and Department policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Windows Active Directory in an enterprise environment.
  • Skill in analyzing computer systems to identify problems, developing logical conclusions and effective system or program solutions.
  • Skill in hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance of desktop computers, laptop, phones, tablets, computers, and associated common office peripherals (monitors, USB devices, printers, etc.).
  • Skill working with current Windows desktop.
  • Ability to maintain a professional presence.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions., * A High School diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in analyzing computer systems to identify problems, developing logical conclusions and effective system or program solutions.
  • Two (2) years’ experience with hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance of desktop and portable computers.
  • Two (2) years’ experience working with current Windows operating systems.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor environment.
  • This position is on-site only and is not available as a remote or hybrid role.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Regular, daily attendance is an essential function for this position. Must be willing to work overtime as required.
  • Subject to on-call rotation.
