Job description

SAIC is seeking a Chief Systems Engineer to support the Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC PAC) Naval Messaging CB ISEA. The work will be conducted at the Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC PAC) San Diego, CA, Old Town Center and remotely on SIPRNet. The SAIC Team provides a full range of engineering, technical support, management, training, and logistics services in support of the Messaging programs. Support of these systems includes technical support for installations, providing systems and software engineering, cyber security, software development and infrastructure as code, training development and delivery, integration and testing of hardware and software functions, and testing of new baselines and/or new capability of messaging systems., * Provide leadership and direction for the sustainment systems engineering for the Naval Messaging ISEA.

  • Evaluate systems engineering tools, design custom workflows for Naval Messaging and work with team members to integrate the tools into daily procedures.
  • Develop systems engineering strategy and documentation to support the sustainment of Naval Messaging systems.
  • Modernize all ISEA systems engineering process into a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach as directed by the DoN and in accordance with NAVWAR guidance.
  • Manage system requirements and their allocation for the Naval Messaging systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelors and eighteen (18) years or more experience; Masters and sixteen (16) years or more experience; PhD or JD and fifteen years or more experience.
  • Must have an Active Top Secret Clearance to start
  • CompTIA Security + certification
  • Experience managing and maintaining Software/ Systems in an Agile environment using CI/CD tools and regular Scrum meetings
  • Experience with Naval Messaging systems and systems design.
  • Familiarity working on classified systems and managing classified data.
  • Experience with IBM Rational Tools Suite.
  • Experience using CAMEO digital engineering tools.
  • Requirements development and allocation to DoD system designs.
  • Experience developing system engineering designs to DoD standards.
  • Candidate must have working knowledge of Jira/Confluence, Microsoft Office (i.e. Visio, Project, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Word).
  • Excellent Communications Skills are imperative.

Benefits & conditions

Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
