Job description

We’re supporting a major technology consulting business as they continue to expand their data engineering capability. As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll take a leading role in the delivery of complex cloud-based data platforms, helping organisations unlock greater value from their data and drive data-led transformation.

This position offers the chance to work across high-profile programmes, influence technical direction and contribute to the development of modern, scalable data architectures.

What You’ll Be Doing

Designing and delivering scalable data platforms and engineering solutions.
Leading the development of batch and real-time data pipelines.
Driving best practice across data architecture, engineering standards and governance.
Working with cloud-native technologies to develop high-performing data solutions.
Supporting DevOps adoption, automation and CI/CD processes.
Collaborating with architects, engineers and stakeholders across multiple projects.
Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team capability development.

Requirements

Strong commercial experience in data engineering and modern data platforms.
Advanced programming skills in Java or Python.
Expertise working with technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Flink or similar distributed data frameworks.
Experience delivering solutions within AWS or other major cloud platforms.
Strong understanding of data architecture, scalability and performance optimisation.
Experience working with containerisation, Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment approaches.
Ability to engage confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience supporting or leading technical teams within complex delivery environments.
