Job description

We’re looking for a skilled contract Python/TypeScript developer to support ongoing delivery across a mix of client and internal projects. You’ll be building, extending, and maintaining APIs and complex backend services in a delivery-driven environment. You’ll be working closely with a small technical team, so clear communication and ownership are crucial., * Building and maintaining backend services using Python or JavaScript/TypeScript

  • Developing APIs with FastAPI and Django (or other tools)
  • Working with Azure/AWS (App Services, Functions, storage, deployments, etc.)
  • Integrating with third-party APIs and internal systems
  • Writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code
  • Collaborating directly with stakeholders

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Python and Python ecosystem or JavaScript ecosystem.
  • Building and integrating secure RESTful APIs.
  • Cloud services such as AWS and Azure Function Apps.
  • Strong understanding of Docker.
  • Version control systems including Git and CI/CD pipelines in Atlassian.
  • Solid understanding of database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of MS Teams and Agile working.
  • Contracting mindset: pragmatic, reliable, delivery-focused.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate with diverse team.

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with Linux environments is desirable but Mac & Windows will also be used.
  • A degree in Computer Science is not essential if you have relevant, hands-on experience.
