Job description
Help people use technology with confidence. CORE The Learning Center is seeking a patient, dependable, and community-minded person to bring hands-on digital support to rural residents. This is an active, field-based role with travel to libraries, senior centers, food pantries, town halls, and other community locations. You do not need to be an IT expert, but you must enjoy helping people and explaining technology clearly and respectfully.
What You Will Do
· Travel to scheduled community sites and set up and take down portable computer labs.
· Provide one-on-one help with laptops, tablets, smartphones, email, software updates, and basic troubleshooting.
· Teach small-group classes using Northstar Digital Literacy and other programs that support skill building using technology and access to community services and resources.
· Help participants complete online job applications, create resumes, use school and benefit portals, and access telehealth services.
· Teach online safety, privacy, password protection, scam awareness, and internet affordability options.
· Track attendance, services, and participant progress in the designated database.
· Coordinate schedules, outreach, referrals, and volunteer support with community partners.
· Serve as a member of the digital literacy and IT team.
· Contribute to project development, expansion and success by communicating successes, challenges and potential solutions.
Requirements
· A high school diploma or equivalent. An associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Education, or IT is helpful but not required.
· At least two years of experience in customer service, human services, adult education, community outreach, or a related role.
· Comfort using Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, web browsers, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and common online tools. Knowledge of all not required. Willingness to learn is essential.
· Strong communication, listening, organization, and problem-solving skills, with patience for helping beginners.
· The ability to work independently, follow a rotating travel schedule, and lift and transport equipment weighing approximately 25-50 pounds.
· A valid, clean driver’s license and a reliable personal vehicle for travel across the service area.
· Knowledge of rural Western New York or the Finger Lakes region is strongly valued. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus but not required.

401(k) matching, Full-Time 35 Hours per Week $20.00-$22.00 per Hour Mobile service across Allegany, Cattaraugus, Genesee, Livingston, and Wyoming Counties, · Health, dental, and vision insurance options; paid vacation, personal, and sick time; and more than 10 paid holidays.
· Mileage reimbursement for travel between work sites and a retirement plan with a 4% employer match.
