Applied Scientist, Alexa for Shopping (Rufus) Experience Science

Amazon Alexa for Shopping (Rufus) Experience Science team is seeking a highly motivated Scientist who is passionate about building next-generation agentic shopping experiences. In this role, you will be developing Agentic Language Models to unlock new shopping experiences. Prior experiences with LLM Post-training techniques, Reinforcement Learning Training and business specific RL gym creation is preferred. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver these experiences across multiple Rufus customer-facing features. You will thrive in this role if you enjoy bringing latest LLM post-training research into everyday life-both for customers and for yourself. You will work side by side with scientists and engineers in a fast-paced environment, driving rapid model development and experimentation. PhD, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience

• Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of architectural concepts and algorithms, schedule tradeoffs and new opportunities with technical team members

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
