Job description

Peraton is seeking a Cyber Data Analyst in our Linthicum, MD office in support of our Department of Defense (DoD) customer as part of a highly talented, highly motivated, and high-performing team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of cyber investigations, digital forensics, cyber threat analysis, and mission support in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will contribute to protecting national security interests by leveraging technical expertise, analytical skills, and innovative problem-solving to address complex cyber challenges.   • Respond to various RFIs, including data pulls and other metrics.
  • Monitor Jira for various tickets and provide updates as needed.
  • Identify ways to automate processes within Jira and Confluence.
  • Identify ways to automate daily operations and update SOPs accordingly
  • Identify ways to redesign Jira ticketing UI.
  • Identify ways to enhance the service management experience within Jira.
  • Conduct open-source and closed-source research of indicators of compromise utilizing common threat vendor tools.
  • Analyze threat data from various sources.
  • Conduct peer reviews of team members’ reports.
  • Conduct outreach to DIB partners and customers for amplifying information related to cyber reports and incidents.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience with BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA; 3 years with PhD. A degree in one of the following fields is highly desired: Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or Software Engineering. However, an additional four years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelors degree.
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Self-motivated individual with attention to detail.
  • Expert in Jira, MS Excel, with experience creating pivot table and other charts.
  • Experience with Department of Defense Cyber Operations.
  • Experience communicating with senior government or military leadership.
  • Knowledge of Mitre ATT&CK and Cyber Kill Chain.
  • Knowledge of Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).
  • Familiarity with phishing and ransomware incidents.
  • Preferred certifications: CCE, CySA+, or GCTI.
