Job description

What if your next role wasn’t just about maintaining technology, but creating more confidence, more possibilities, and healthier financial lives for everyone you serve? Financial Center is at a defining moment. For more than 70 years, we’ve been a trusted partner helping people and businesses achieve financial wellness, and today we’re entering an exciting new chapter of growth and transformation. We’re looking for our next Chief Information Officer to help lead the journey. As a strategic partner to the CEO and Board of Directors, you’ll have the opportunity to shape enterprise-wide technology strategy, accelerate digital transformation, strengthen cybersecurity and security, and create innovative experiences that inspire confidence and improve the financial lives of more than 70,000 members. We’re looking for a leader who can build momentum, create clarity and direction, and inspire teams to achieve more together. Someone who sees technology not as a support function, but as a catalyst for growth, innovation, trust, and member impact. If you’re energized by leading change, building high-performing teams, and creating new possibilities for members, employees, and communities, this may be the opportunity you’ve been looking for. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Build, mentor, coach, and lead high-performing teams.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors on technology strategy, payments, and key initiatives.
  • Represent the credit union in the community and industry, building relationships that enhance visibility, support growth, and reinforce the credit union’s commitment to serving members and communities.
  • Accountable for managing operating expenses within approved budgets, identifying opportunities for efficiency, and adjusting plans to meet organizational goals, while supporting strong financial performance.
  • Lead the development and execution of the credit union’s technology strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, operational needs, and future growth.
  • Oversee systems development and operations, ensuring systems are stable, efficient, and capable of supporting high-quality member and employee experience across all channels.
  • Oversee card services, and related processing, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and seamless member experiences.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive enterprise payments strategy that enhances member and business payment experiences, strengthens core deposit growth, and positions the credit union for future payment innovations.
  • Oversee project management and process improvement initiatives, ensuring that strategic goals are met on time and within budget.
  • Establish and maintain strong cybersecurity practices, ensuring the protection of systems, data, and member information, while proactively identifying and mitigating emerging threats.
  • Evaluate and advance the responsible use of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to enhance efficiency, improve decision-making, and support innovation while maintaining appropriate governance and risk controls.
  • Utilize data, analytics, and performance insights to monitor system effectiveness, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement across technology operations.
  • Partner with executive leadership to ensure areas of oversight align with organizational priorities and support enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Lead and support organizational change initiatives, ensuring technology and operational impacts are effectively managed and implemented with strong adoption and sustainability.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, security and compliance programs including but not limited to BSA, AML, OFAC, security, and safety, exercising awareness regarding suspicious activity, money laundering or fraudulent behavior.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year (4) college or university. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum (15) years of progressive experience in technology, systems, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and payments.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of senior and executive leadership experience, including responsibility for enterprise strategy, organizational performance, and cross-functional leadership, preferably in financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise technology architecture, cybersecurity, cloud computing, networking, core banking systems, enterprise applications, payment technologies, vendor management, and technology governance.
  • Experience leading digital transformation initiatives, enterprise technology implementations, payment modernization, and technology-enabled business process improvements.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), ITIL, Project Management Professional (PMP), Microsoft, Cisco, AWS, Azure, or comparable technology certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience leveraging enterprise business systems, analytics platforms, and technology solutions to support strategic decision-making.

LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

  • Lead with intention, alignment, and accountability.
  • Build and develop high-performing teams who are aligned to organizational goals and accountable for results.
  • Drive a culture of collaboration, breaking down silos and fostering shared ownership across the organization.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, influencing all levels.
  • Make sound, timely decisions that balance organizational priorities, risk, and member experience.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment in all interaction.
  • Hold self and others accountable for commitments, ensuring follow-through and measurable progress against established goals.
