Job description
This is an opportunity to help shape the ERP function from the ground up and play a central role in the company’s continued growth and digital transformation. OneWest recently completed the first of multiple planned go-live phases for Epicor’s Kinetic ERP (cloud based) system and is building the internal capability to support and grow the system going forward. The ERP Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, security, stability, and continuous improvement of the Epicor Kinetic environment. This role will serve as the primary internal point of contact for ERP-related issues, security access, reporting, and data integrity, and will partner closely with department leaders, the implementation partner/consultants, and Epicor support to ensure the system reliably supports business operations.
Depending on the candidate’s experience and demonstrated project management capability, this individual may also serve as the internal Project Manager for subsequent go-live phases of the Epicor Kinetic implementation, coordinating timelines, resources, testing, and change management across functional teams., System Administration & Security
- Administer user accounts, roles, and security access within Epicor Kinetic, ensuring access aligns with job responsibilities and segregation-of-duties requirements.
- Maintain security policies, license compliance, and periodic access reviews/audits.
- Configure and maintain system settings, company/site configurations, and business process rules.
- Monitor system health, performance, and availability; escalate issues to Epicor support as needed.
Testing, Upgrades & Change Management
- Plan and execute regression and user acceptance testing for Epicor updates, patches, and upgrades before they are promoted to production.
- Maintain a test plan and test environment(s), coordinating with department “power users” to validate critical business processes after each update.
- Document changes, maintain a change log, and communicate upgrade impacts to affected teams.
Troubleshooting & Support
- Serve as first-line/tier-1 and tier-2 support for end-user issues, questions, and error resolution within Epicor Kinetic.
- Triage, log, and track issues through resolution using a help-desk/ticketing process; escalate to Epicor support or the implementation partner when needed.
- Perform root-cause analysis on recurring issues and implement preventive solutions.
Reporting & Data
- Design, build, and maintain reports, dashboards, and BAQs (Business Activity Queries) using Epicor tools (e.g., BAQ Designer, SSRS/Report Builder, Kinetic dashboards, or comparable reporting tools).
- Partner with department leaders to translate reporting/analytics requests into functional specifications and deliverables.
- Perform data corrections, imports/exports, and data integrity reviews; identify and remediate root causes of recurring data issues.
Implementation & Project Support (Future Phases)
- If qualified, serve as Project Manager for subsequent Epicor Kinetic go-live phases, including scope, schedule, resource coordination, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
- Coordinate with the implementation partner/consultants, department stakeholders, and executive sponsors to keep future phases on track.
- Develop and maintain training materials, SOPs, and end-user documentation for new modules and processes as they go live.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain current knowledge of Epicor Kinetic features, releases, and best practices; recommend improvements and new functionality to the business.
- Manage the relationship with Epicor support and any third-party consultants/VARs.
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning as it relates to the ERP system.
- Other duties as assigned to support the effective operation and continuous improvement of the ERP system., * Reports to: CFO
- Works closely with: department managers and “power users,” finance/accounting, operations, Epicor Cloud support, and the implementation partner/consultants.
- May supervise: future ERP support staff or contract resources as the ERP function grows.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Office location: Downtown Houston
- Primarily office-based work; extended periods of computer use.
- Occasional availability outside standard hours may be required to support system updates, cutovers, or urgent issue resolution.
- Travel between OneWest sites across the Houston area may be necessary on occasion

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of experience administering or supporting an ERP system (Epicor Kinetic/Epicor 10 strongly preferred. Experience with other ERP systems such NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP, or Infor will be considered) in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with ERP security/role configuration, report/dashboard development (e.g., BAQ, SSRS, Crystal Reports, or Power BI), and data management.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to translate business needs into system configuration or reporting solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work directly with end users across departments, from shop-floor staff to executives.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently as the sole/lead ERP resource for the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with Epicor Kinetic (browser UI) specifically, including SaaS update cycles, Epicor security framework, and Kinetic UI/dashboards.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases for reporting and data correction work.
- Prior experience serving as a project manager or workstream lead on an ERP implementation or upgrade.
- Familiarity with manufacturing business processes (e.g., order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, production/MES, inventory, or finance modules) as relevant to the company.
