Job description

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming atmosphere in the front office
  • Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and other third-party payers, ensuring accurate billing and claims processing
  • Manage patient intake forms, update medical and dental records, and review documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly and courteously
  • Process payments, perform medical collections, and assist with billing procedures using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
  • Maintain organized filing systems for medical records, dental charts, and office documentation while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist with insurance verification, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and documentation review to support accurate medical billing and coding processes
  • Support clinic operations by managing office supplies, scheduling follow-up appointments, and coordinating with clinical staff for smooth workflow

Requirements

  • Proficiency with dental practice management software such
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Athenahealth
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly in accordance with HIPAA standards

  • Demonstrated clerical experience involving filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and multi-line phone handling
  • Familiarity with dental terminology and clinic experience enhances your ability to support both clinical staff and patients effectively
