Job description

The Security Architect - Consultant (Cloud Engineer) will support the deployment and management of State-Wide IT Shared Services Cloud initiatives and projects. This role involves working closely with the Department of Technology Operations to ensure secure cloud infrastructure and architecture. The position requires a blend of onsite and remote work, with an emphasis on collaboration and adherence to security standards. Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage secure cloud architectures for state-wide IT services.
  • Support deployment and operational management of cloud initiatives and projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security compliance and best practices.
  • Participate in virtual interviews and coordinate with management for onsite scheduling.
  • Provide expertise in cloud security and architecture to enhance IT shared services., * Candidate must be able to travel to Columbia, South Carolina as required.
  • All travel expenses for onsite work are the responsibility of the consultant.
  • No residency requirement for South Carolina; open to nationwide candidates.
  • Strict adherence to security protocols and right to represent documentation required.

Scheduling:

  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
  • Work primarily remote with scheduled onsite visits.
  • Must work during Eastern Time Zone business hours.
  • Contract duration: 12 months with possibility for extension.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience as a Security Architect or similar role focusing on cloud environments.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices.
  • Ability to work Eastern Time Zone hours.
  • Security clearance or ability to meet security requirements.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

  • Experience with State-Wide IT Shared Services or government cloud initiatives.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or cloud provider security certifications.
  • Experience coordinating onsite and remote work schedules effectively.
