APIs, backend services, and cloud-native applications while collaborating with experienced
engineers.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer early in their career who is eager to learn modern
backend technologies, distributed systems, and cloud-native development. You’ll contribute to
production systems, participate in code reviews, and grow your technical skills while helping deliver
reliable, scalable services.

Responsibilities:
Backend & API Development
-
Develop, test, and maintain backend services and GraphQL APIs using Golang and Node.js.

Build new features and enhance existing microservices under the guidance of senior engineers.
-
Contribute to content ingestion pipelines and backend systems.
-
Work with MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and AWS services.

Implement and maintain cloud-native applications using AWS Lambda and related AWS services.
Requirements

Experience building backend services for NBCUniversal’s digital platforms.

Exposure to cloud-native architectures, GraphQL, AWS, and distributed systems.

Experience with AI-assisted software development.

A collaborative engineering culture focused on innovation and continuous improvement.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
-
2+ years of software engineering experience (internships welcome).
-
Experience with at least one language such as Golang, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Python.

Basic understanding of backend development and REST or GraphQL APIs.

Familiarity with Git, data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
-
Curiosity and willingness to adopt AI-assisted development tools and workflows.
-
Ability to evaluate AI-generated code using sound engineering judgment.
Desired Characteristics:
-
Experience with Golang, Node.js, or TypeScript.
-
Familiarity with GraphQL, AWS, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.

Experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude, or similar tools.
-
Contributions to open-source or personal projects.

Interest in media technology and distributed systems.
Benefits & conditions
Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

Salary range: $110,000 - $120,000
