Job description

The Healthcare Data Analyst is responsible for the development, management, validation, analysis, and reporting of quality, operational, and regulatory data. This position serves as a subject matter expert for data integrity and quality measurement, ensuring accurate, reliable, and actionable data are available to support quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, regulatory compliance, operational decision-making, and strategic planning. The Healthcare Data Analyst collaborates with clinical, operational, financial, and information technology teams to develop databases, reports, dashboards, and data validation processes that support organizational goals and continuous performance and process improvement. This role requires advanced analytical skills, knowledge of healthcare data systems, and the ability to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences., 1. Develop, automate, maintain, monitor, and validate databases, reports, dashboards, and other tools used to analyze clinical quality, patient safety, and operational data.

  1. Design and maintain data visualization solutions, including dashboards, scorecards, and graphical reports, to improve data accessibility and support informed decision-making.
  2. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity of organizational quality, patient safety, operational, and regulatory data.
  3. Develop and implement validation rules, algorithms, and monitoring processes to identify data quality issues, outliers, inconsistencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
  4. Collect, analyze, validate, and submit data required for internal performance monitoring and external regulatory reporting programs.
  5. Partner with quality, clinical, operational, financial, and information technology teams to support data management, reporting, and quality improvement initiatives.
  6. Conduct data analyses, benchmarking, trending, and performance monitoring to identify opportunities for quality improvement and operational excellence.
  7. Develop and maintain data dictionaries, documentation, reporting methodologies, and other resources to support data governance and standardization across the organization.
  8. Provide consultation, training, and technical support to leaders and staff regarding data interpretation, report utilization, dashboard functionality, and quality measure definitions.
  9. Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of organizational quality, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives through data analysis and reporting.
  10. Prioritize and manage multiple reporting requests and projects while meeting established deadlines in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  2. Three (3) years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, healthcare informatics, or related analytical work.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and experience with SQL, database management principles, and business intelligence or data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
  4. Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and present complex data to clinical, operational, and executive audiences.
  5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
  6. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills., 1. Master’s degree in Health Informatics, Data Analytics, Public Health, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  7. Five (5) years of experience in healthcare analytics, clinical quality reporting, or health system data management.
  8. Experience developing executive dashboards, quality scorecards, and performance reporting tools.
  9. Knowledge of healthcare quality measures, performance improvement methodologies, accreditation standards, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  10. Experience working with electronic medical records, preferably MEDITECH, as well as enterprise data warehouses and reporting platforms.
  11. Experience supporting quality improvement, patient safety, risk management, infection prevention, regulatory compliance, or performance improvement programs.
  12. Knowledge of statistical analysis, benchmarking methodologies, and healthcare performance measurement.
