Job description
The Systems and Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and performance of the organization’s technology infrastructure across all clinic locations and future Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) operations.
This position serves as the primary technical resource responsible for systems administration, network operations, cloud services, endpoint management, cybersecurity implementation, and infrastructure support. The Systems and Infrastructure Administrator works closely with the Information Technology Manager to ensure technology systems remain secure, reliable, and available to support patient care and business operations.
The Systems and Infrastructure Administrator supports approximately 110 employees, 130 endpoints, 100 EHR users, imaging systems, PACS infrastructure, five clinic locations, remote sites, and future ASC integration.
Essential Responsibilities
Infrastructure Administration
- Administer and maintain hosted server environments and supporting infrastructure.
- Monitor system health, performance, capacity, and availability.
- Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and lifecycle management activities.
- Maintain system documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Ensure infrastructure supports organizational growth and operational requirements.
Microsoft 365 and Cloud Administration
- Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Manage Entra ID, user identities, authentication, and access controls.
- Administer Microsoft Intune for device management and policy enforcement.
- Support cloud-based services and integrations.
- Manage licensing and tenant administration activities.
Network Administration
- Administer Fortigate firewalls, VPN connectivity, switches, wireless infrastructure, and internet connectivity.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Implement network security best practices and access controls.
- Coordinate network upgrades and maintenance activities.
- Work with vendors and the MSP on advanced networking issues and projects.
Cybersecurity Operations
- Implement cybersecurity controls and security best practices.
- Monitor security alerts and respond to identified threats.
- Manage vulnerability remediation, patch management, and endpoint security initiatives.
- Assist with security audits, compliance activities, and risk assessments.
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning efforts.
Clinical and Imaging Technology Support
- Support PACS, RIS, imaging workstations, and imaging-related infrastructure.
- Coordinate with imaging vendors regarding system maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Support connectivity and performance requirements for imaging workflows.
- Assist with deployment and support of clinical technology systems.
Technical Escalation and Support
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex issues originating from IT Support Specialists.
- Troubleshoot advanced hardware, software, network, and infrastructure issues.
- Provide onsite and remote support when necessary.
- Participate in root cause analysis and long-term issue resolution efforts.
Project Participation
- Assist with implementation of infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operational technology projects.
- Support EHR migration activities and future ASC integration efforts.
- Participate in technology planning and improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders during project execution., * Maintain highly available and reliable infrastructure services.
- Ensure timely resolution of escalated technical issues.
- Maintain strong cybersecurity and patch management practices.
- Support provider productivity through stable technology operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation and operational standards.
- Contribute to successful execution of technology projects and organizational initiatives.
Work Schedule
- Full-time position.
- Standard support hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Occasional after-hours work may be required for maintenance activities, technology upgrades, or emergency situations.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, military training, and relevant professional experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of Information Technology experience with systems administration and infrastructure support responsibilities.
- Experience administering Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune.
- Experience supporting enterprise networking environments including firewalls, VPNs, switching, and wireless infrastructure.
- Experience supporting cloud-hosted environments and distributed organizations.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Experience supporting healthcare organizations.
- Experience supporting PACS, RIS, and medical imaging environments.
- Experience administering Fortigate firewalls and security solutions.
- Experience supporting EHR platforms and healthcare applications.
- Industry certifications such as Microsoft, Fortinet, CompTIA Network+, Security+, CCNA, Azure Administrator, or similar credentials., * Ability to travel between clinic locations as needed.
- Ability to lift and transport computer equipment, monitors, and related hardware weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in clinical, office, and technology equipment environments.
- Ability to access network closets and equipment rooms as required., * Associate (Preferred), * Information Technology: 3 years (Preferred)
