Job description
The Director, IT & Software Engineering is a strategic and hands-on technology leader responsible for overseeing the organization’s software engineering, technology infrastructure, applications, integrations, and IT initiatives. This position will provide leadership across the full technology lifecycle-from architecture and development through implementation, support, security, and continuous improvement.
The Director will partner closely with executive leadership and business stakeholders to understand organizational needs and translate them into scalable, secure, and effective technology solutions. This role requires a leader who can operate strategically while remaining technically engaged and capable of working directly with vendors and business teams., * Own projects end-to-end: design, development, deployment, and ongoing support
- Build and maintain backend systems and APIs
- Integrate with third-party platforms and external services
- Develop automation workflows to streamline internal processes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced environment
- Contribute to system architecture and technical decision-making
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings strong software engineering experience, IT leadership capabilities, sound business judgment, and the ability to lead technology initiatives in a growing and evolving organization., * Strong backend engineering experience (preferably in Python)
- Experience working with AWS (S3, Lambda, API Gateway, etc.)
- Solid understanding of REST APIs and system integrations
- Experience with automation, scripting, and process optimization
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver independently
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, * AWS Certification (e.g., Cloud Practitioner or higher)
- Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., CDK)
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and serverless systems
- Experience working in a startup or small team environment
- Exposure to data pipelines, ETL workflows, or AI/ML integrations
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes)
- Frontend or full-stack capabilities
- Experience integrating with SaaS platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Stripe, NetSuite, etc.)
