Job description

In addition to teaching responsibilities, works at the assigned school site to coordinate, plan, administer, and support all required local, state, and national assessments. The School Testing Coordinator ensures compliance with all testing procedures, maintains test security, and provides training and support to staff to ensure accurate and efficient test administration., All functions are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety and environmental regulations, and facility and computer security policies and procedures. Functions are subject to change from time to time to meet the needs of the organization. Current essential functions include the following:

  • Coordinates the planning, scheduling, and administration of all required assessments at the school site in collaboration with the principal.
  • Oversees all aspects of testing for the following assessments:
  • State Beginning of Year (BOY), Middle of Year (MOY), and End of Year (EOY) assessments
  • ACCESS for ELLs
  • NM-ASR
  • AP Testing
  • SAT and PSAT
  • WIDA Screener
  • Other New Mexico high school assessments
  • Ensures secure storage, distribution, and collection of all testing materials and maintains strict adherence to all test security protocols.
  • Trains school staff on test administration procedures, accommodations, and test security requirements; maintains documentation of all required training.
  • Develops and communicates testing schedules, logistics, and expectations to staff, students, and families.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between the school and district or external testing agencies during all testing windows.
  • Monitors testing to ensure compliance with all procedures and provides immediate support to staff during administration.
  • Coordinates and administers make-up testing sessions as needed.
  • Ensures appropriate testing accommodations are provided for students with IEPs, 504 Plans, and English Learners.
  • Reports and documents all testing irregularities in accordance with district and state guidelines.
  • Assists with the collection, organization, and distribution of testing data to support instructional decision-making.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a licensed Level 2 or Level 3 teacher
  • Extensive classroom teaching experience preferred
  • Experience with the administration of standardized tests preferred

Knowledge/Technical Skills/Abilities (KSA’s):

  • Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and test security protocols
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, and manage multiple testing programs simultaneously
  • Ability to train and support staff in test administration procedures
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to analyze and use assessment data to support instructional practices

  • Testing platforms and data systems (e.g., online testing systems, student information systems), Frequently required to sit and talk or hear. Regularly required to stand and walk. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Occasionally required to drive a car while performing the duties of this job. Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Position regularly demands meeting deadlines with severe time constraints.
