Job description

Located on our beautiful corporate campus in Louisville (KY), the Oracle EBS Solutions Applications Leader serves as the Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) solution architect and design authority across modules and integrations, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, supportable, and aligned with enterprise standards. This role defines and governs architecture patterns, integration approaches, development guidelines, and release standards, and leads architecture/design reviews for complex initiatives. The Applications Leader owns technical tradeoff decisions and architectural risk management for the EBS ecosystem, and partners with IT leadership on execution planning and roadmap alignment. This role also partners with business and IT stakeholders to shape requirements, define end-to-end solution approaches, and drive execution across configuration, development, integration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization. The Applications Leader coordinates and assigns work to project resources (including support partners) without direct line management, and coaches less experienced team members through design reviews, collaborative problem solving, and knowledge sharing. This position acts as a key point of contact and subject matter expert, providing technical leadership through influence and governance.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Own Oracle EBS solution architecture across modules, integrations, reporting, and data flows; define targetstate designs and ensure solutions meet security, audit, performance, availability, and maintainability requirements.
  • Define and maintain EBS design standards, integration patterns, development guidelines, and release/deployment standards; establish required architecture artifacts (diagrams, interface specs, decision records) and review/approval checkpoints.
  • Provide architectural leadership on major initiatives: develop solution options and tradeoff analysis, document architecture decisions, and approve solution designs to ensure crossteam alignment.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and IT leaders to shape requirements into scalable solution approaches; provide technical input to roadmap planning by identifying architecture dependencies, sequencing constraints, and technical debt impacts.
  • Guide delivery teams and vendors through architecture governance: review designs and technical deliverables, ensure adherence to standards, and escalate unresolved technical risks and crossdomain impacts to the appropriate leaders.
  • Lead crossmodule integration and data integrity governance from a systems perspective (interfaces, reconciliations, controls, and data flow consistency), partnering with business data owners as needed to address master and transactional data issues.
  • Drive reliability improvements by analyzing systemic incidents and recurring defects; define architectural remediation themes and design changes to reduce operational risk and improve longterm stability.
  • Maintain awareness of Oracle product roadmap and technology options; recommend upgrades, patching approaches, and modernization opportunities aligned with support posture and business priorities.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced team members; perform design/code/test plan reviews, establish reusable templates, and facilitate knowledge transfer to improve quality and consistency across the Oracle EBS landscape.
  • Contribute to the Oracle EBS application roadmap by evaluating new features, tools, and technical approaches; recommend improvements aligned to business priorities, security, architecture standards, and supportability.
  • Assist in all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience with enterprise applications, including significant Oracle EBS functional/technical experience across multiple modules and integrations.
  • Demonstrated solution architecture experience: design authority, standards development, and architecture governance for complex initiatives.
  • Strong integration and data skills: APIs/web services, data flows to other applications, master data considerations, security/audit design, and performance tuning.
  • Experience partnering with vendors and Oracle Support; capable of assessing vendor deliverables and ensuring quality and supportability.
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills; able to align business and technical leaders on tradeoffs and decisions.
  • Experience leading workstreams and coordinating resources on full life cycle initiatives; able to estimate effort, manage dependencies/risks, and communicate status to IT leadership and business stakeholders. PMP or similar certification is a plus.
  • Ability to balance independent execution with appropriate escalation of risks, timeline impacts, security concerns, or architectural decisions; supports IT governance and change control practices.
  • Architecture mindset: systems thinking, simplifies complexity, and designs for supportability and scalability.
  • Influence and facilitation: aligns stakeholders, resolves technical disagreements, and drives decisions with tradeoff clarity.
  • Governance and standards: establishes patterns, ensures compliance, and improves delivery quality through repeatable practices.
  • Risk management: proactively identifies architectural/operational risks and defines mitigations.
  • Communication: produces clear architecture artifacts and communicates to technical and business audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead crossfunctional solution design for complex business processes and map them effectively to Oracle EBS capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities, remove blockers, and meet deadlines across a portfolio of work.
