Job description
As the iOS Tech Lead youāll be responsible for the technical direction, strategy and health of our iOS platform. Youāll ensure that our technology can deliver on the business/product requirements necessary to make Pinterest successful. This means working with other leads to set and execute a long-term strategy for iOS, aligning the strategy with other clients where it makes sense and communicating to leadership our current status and path to having a world-class iOS platform. Youāll also foster a healthy iOS community where all iOS engineers can learn best practices, collaborate effectively and understand our technical direction.
What youāll do:
- Be the technical point of contact for decisions that impact the whole iOS platform and for cross-functional partners like recruiting, business development and legal
- Develop strong partnerships with product teams to understand and proactively address future technology needs and current developer pain points
- Champion and drive large-scale, cross-functional initiatives that improve the iOS platform
- Leverage AI to accelerate delivery and increase overall efficiency of large scale migrations and refactoring initiatives while remaining accountable for final decisions and deliverables.
- Act as the ultimate ācustomer representativeā for engineers on iOS including representing needs to leadership and prioritizing projects on the platform teams that ensure high quality features and a world-class developer experience
- Scale your leadership through both direct mentorship and via best practices, processes, training and tools.
- Ensure solid technical plans are in place for projects within iOS via direct review or delegation
Requirements
- Deep expertise building iOS systems at scale with modern frameworks
- Knowledge of (and a passion for) current trends and best practices in client architecture
- Track record of delivering large, cross-functional projects across multiple organizations
- Track record for being a champion of developer velocity and feature quality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Demonstrated ability to use AI to improve speed and quality in your day-to-day workflow for relevant outputs.
- Demonstrated ability of critical evaluation and verification of AI-assisted work (e.g., testing, source-checking, data validation, peer review).
- Bachelorās degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
