Job description
A client of Insight Global is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join its growing SpaceTech Division. This individual will play a critical role in the design, development, integration, and delivery of advanced space-based processing, controls, and electro-optical systems. The Systems Engineering team serves as the technical backbone across multiple programs, ensuring engineering rigor, program continuity, and successful execution from concept through deployment. The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining Interface Control Specifications and leading the creation of key systems engineering artifacts including Systems Engineering Management Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, Interface Control Documents, Integration Plans, and Test Plans. This person will own the requirements lifecycle, including requirements generation, decomposition, analysis, verification, validation, and customer review activities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 8-12 years of Systems Engineering experience, preferably within Aerospace or Space Systems
- Experience developing and maintaining Interface Control Specifications (ICS) and other systems engineering documentation
- Strong requirements management experience including generation, decomposition, analysis, verification, and customer review
- Experience with systems engineering tools such as CAMEO, ReliaSoft/Reliance, Python, MATLAB, and/or ANSYS
- Understanding of Systems Engineering principles, PM&P, Mission Assurance, Reliability, Stress Derating, and Radiation Effects analyses
- Familiarity with AS9100D standards and compliance requirements
- Experience supporting integration, testing, validation, and acceptance activities
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with customers, engineering teams, and executive leadership
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of device engineering experience across multidisciplinary environments
- Experience with mechanical, optical, electrical, software, firmware, and controls engineering for space applications
- Previous technical leadership or engineering management experience
- Experience implementing Systems Engineering processes, MBSE methodologies, and engineering best practices across organizations
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
