Job description

Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, Admission Technology & Operations, the Senior Assistant/Associate Director, Admission Technology supports technological systems and operational processes, maintains internal relationships with University technology partners, and serves the technological needs of the undergraduate admission staff in managing approximately 40,000 annual applications for admission. The role will provide support and creative problem solving to diagnose and address issues of moderate to complex scope and will be closely involved in responding to the growing technological needs of the Office of Undergraduate Admission.

The Senior Assistant/Associate Director, Admission Technology will apply their skills as an experienced programmer and database professional to:

  • Manage internal admission databases;

  • Build data import and export processes;

  • Manage the data flow/feeds and technical elements of Slate hosted applications;

  • Maintain and update workflows, queries and rules;

  • Troubleshoot issues across technological systems;

  • Serve as office expert on evolving artificial intelligence tools for everyday staff use and to enhance operational efficiency (AI is not used to review applications);

  • Develop and maintain relationships with other University technical experts to ensure accurate data transfer to key University offices and partners;

  • Develop dashboards based on the needs of the users and their specific requirements;

  • Build reports in support of divisional goals;

  • Maintain an application processing caseload to support departmental needs and to develop an understanding of the office’s technological needs; use this experience to recommend and develop enhancements to existing and new modes of operations.

Requirements

Title and salary commensurate with relevant experience based on the following titles and full-time equivalent hiring ranges:

  • Associate Director: $74,450 - $93,050; (5+ years of experience in technology operations, preferably in but not limited to, higher education)

  • Senior Assistant Director: $67,350 - $84,200 (3-5 years of experience in technology operations, preferably in but not limited to, higher education)

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Stellar customer service mindset in work with prospective students, families, and school/college counselors.

  • Excellent time management and communication skills.

  • Experienced in the use of Slate CRM and related technical systems preferred.

  • Experience with Slate Integrations (SFTP, SIS, Data Integrations, CRM connectors, APIs and middleware solutions, working knowledge of ProSam).

  • Proven ability to communicate and work effectively with internal and external constituents.

  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate Boston College’s distinctive mission as a Jesuit university.

  • Commitment to enrolling and retaining student populations with, and an ability to interact with colleagues from, varied backgrounds and talents.

  • Past experience working as a member of an admission office’s staff is desired.

  • Microsoft Office.

  • Microsoft HTML Editor and SQL experience.
