Requirements

  • Proven experience (minimum 6 years) as a Solutions Architect or Senior Technical Lead on Azure-hosted web applications with solid understanding of Azure infrastructure components, cloud administration, and automation tools (eg, PowerShell, Azure CLI) and the Azure Well-Architected Framework (WAF)
  • Proven experience validating vendor-proposed technical designs (ADD) against business requirements.
  • Ensure all architectural decisions comply with internal security policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Own creation and maintenance of Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) alongside ADD validation documenting what was decided, why, and what alternatives were rejected (for traceability purposes during the whole programme delivery).
  • Strong Azure application architecture: data modelling, API/integration patterns, service design.
  • Deep familiarity with REST API design and systems integration, Salesforce, SSO/identity providers, and Azure-hosted cloud services and data infrastructure.
  • Experience designing/validating parallel-run reconciliation approaches defining what “matching output” means technically between old and new systems (we might need to use them during that phase too).
  • Ensure system design accounts for operational ownership boundaries (patching, monitoring, cost/FinOps, incident response) between the organisation and the vendor/agency.
  • Comfortable working alongside a delivery vendor as the client-side technical authority, translating tradeoffs into plain language for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent; a BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Act as the organisation’s internal technical authority in agency conversations
  • Identify over-engineering, scope creep, and commercial risk in supplier proposals.
  • Hold external teams accountable to quality, feasibility, and agreed architectural standards

They are located in London and would need someone who can travel to site when needed.
