Depending on your level of experience, you may contribute to algorithm development under the guidance of experienced colleagues or lead complex technical investigations, shape research direction, and provide technical leadership on projects., * Develop, implement and test algorithms related to sensor processing, data fusion, path optimisation, scheduling and physical modelling.

  • Build and analyse mathematical models of physical systems, sensors and autonomous behaviours.
  • Assess state-of-the-art literature and propose suitable algorithm investigations and development activities based on project requirements, scope and budget.
  • Collaborate with SeeByte’s software engineers and roboticists to understand requirements and integrate solutions into software products.
  • Work across the full development lifecycle, from proof-of-concept and prototype activities through to delivery of robust, trusted software products.
  • Use experimental data and user feedback to analyse system performance and refine models and algorithms.
  • Stay current with relevant developments in applied mathematics, machine learning, robotics and autonomous systems.
  • Present results to internal and external stakeholders.
  • For more experienced candidates, contribute to technical strategy, mentor colleagues and help shape SeeByte’s research and development roadmap.

  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Git and collaborative software development practices.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desirable

  • Experience developing machine learning models, particularly in reinforcement learning or computer vision.
  • Experience with robotics or autonomous systems, including path-planning problems or ROS.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices, including testing, documentation and continuous integration.
  • Working knowledge of C/C++.
  • Experience leading technical work, mentoring colleagues or delivering complex research and development projects.

You’ll Stand Out If You

  • Are customer-focused and keep user needs at the forefront of your work.
  • Communicate clearly, respectfully and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive culture and enjoy sharing knowledge with others.
  • Are passionate about continuous learning, innovation and personal development.
  • Take ownership of problems and enjoy turning complex challenges into practical solutions., All offers of employment will be conditional upon successful completion of a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) process and require Security Check (SC) clearance. To be eligible for full SC clearance, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last five years. In some circumstances, a minimum of three years’ residence in the UK over the last five years may be accepted, subject to additional overseas checks.
