Job description

Looking for an opportunity where you can build and shape an organisation’s Business Intelligence capability rather than simply maintain reports? Our client is a rapidly growing and innovative business looking for a commercially focused Business Intelligence Analyst to play a pivotal role in driving data-led decision making across the organisation. Reporting directly to the Head of Business Operations, you will take ownership of the BI roadmap, transforming complex business data into meaningful commercial insight through intuitive, enterprise-quality reporting solutions. Working closely with stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Marketing, Concessions and Senior Leadership, you’ll help define the company’s future data strategy while creating a trusted single source of business intelligence. This is far more than a traditional reporting role. You’ll combine technical expertise with commercial thinking to identify opportunities, solve business challenges and empower users through scalable self-service reporting using Microsoft Power BI and Azure technologies.

THE ROLE WILL INCLUDE

  • Designing and developing enterprise-level Power BI dashboards and reports
  • Building scalable semantic data models and reusable datasets
  • Creating intuitive self-service reporting solutions for business users
  • Developing and maintaining Azure-based data pipelines and ETL processes
  • Designing scalable Azure data architecture
  • Optimising SQL queries and database performance
  • Improving data quality, governance and documentation
  • Translating business questions into analytical solutions that influence strategic decision making
  • Identifying commercial opportunities through insightful data analysis
  • Supporting pricing, forecasting and business growth modelling
  • Gathering reporting requirements and recommending innovative BI solutions
  • Training and supporting business users to maximise self-service reporting
  • Championing data literacy across the organisation
  • Evaluating emerging technologies including Microsoft Fabric and AI to support the future BI strategy
  • Driving continuous improvement by automating manual reporting processes

Requirements

  • Advanced Power BI development experience
  • Strong SQL and database optimisation skills
  • Experience designing robust data models
  • Excellent knowledge of DAX and Power Query (M)
  • Experience developing ETL processes
  • Strong understanding of Azure data services
  • Knowledge of data warehousing principles
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent understanding of data governance and data quality
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to challenge assumptions using data
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Able to translate complex analysis into practical business recommendations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Highly organised with a proactive, self-starting approach
  • Curious mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
