Provide all aspects of IT support for Scientific Research Vessel USCGC Healy. Work both underway and on shore. Underway deployments are between 2 and 8 weeks. Onshore work includes an on-call rotation. Customer base includes research scientists, technicians, outreach personnel, and military personnel. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills and the ability to provide positive user support at a wide range of skill levels and interests., * Associates Degree from an accredited Community or Technical College in Computer Science or related field, or three years System Administrator experiencewith acceptable driving record pertinent to position.

• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or Network Engineering, or four years System Administrator experience
• Additional experience or training in one or more leading operating systems, network equipment, and network protocols
• User support experience
• Following certifications: CCNA, CompTIA Security+, RHCSA/RHCE

Working Conditions:

• Moderate noise levels
• Occasional evening or weekend work
• On call as needed
• Must be able to work underway at sea for 35 days or more at a time

Physical Requirements:

• Sit or stand for several hours
• Lift items up to 50 pounds
