Job description

I am working with a specialist property finance company that has invested heavily in building its own in-house technology platform to support the full lending lifecycle., * Work on a genuine in-house software platform rather than client projects

  • Broad engineering role covering backend, frontend, cloud and databases
  • Modern technology stack including Python, React, TypeScript and Azure
  • Join a small engineering team where you will have real ownership and influence
  • Work closely with experienced developers who are committed to mentoring and development
  • Stable financial services business with the culture of a growing technology team
  • Six-monthly salary reviews
  • Excellent opportunity to accelerate your career within a collaborative environment

Requirements

They are looking for a Software Developer with around 1 to 3 years of commercial experience to join their growing engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working across the full software development lifecycle and wants to broaden their experience across backend development, frontend technologies, cloud infrastructure and modern web applications.

You will join a small engineering team where you will have genuine ownership from day one, working directly with experienced developers to build and improve software that sits at the heart of the business.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Building backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI
  • Developing frontend applications using React, TypeScript and Next.js
  • Working with PostgreSQL, SQL Server and MongoDB
  • Building and improving internal business applications
  • Working with Microsoft Azure cloud services
  • Developing scalable, maintainable software within a collaborative engineering team
  • Contributing across the full software development lifecycle, from design through to deployment

You Will Ideally Have

  • Around 1 to 3 years of commercial software development experience
  • Commercial experience with Python
  • Experience building applications with React and TypeScript
  • Experience working with SQL databases
  • A genuine interest in working across both backend and frontend development
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies

Experience with FastAPI, Django, Next.js, Azure, MongoDB, REST APIs, Git or CI/CD would also be beneficial.

You do not need experience with every technology listed. The hiring manager is looking for capable developers who have strong fundamentals, enjoy learning and are keen to broaden their technical skill set within a supportive engineering team.
