Job description

In our Security Operations Center (SOC), you will take on the following exciting tasks:

  • Monitoring Deutsche Telekom’s IT infrastructure and external customers in real time to identify potential threats and security incidents
  • Perform initial analyses and prioritize security incidents (e.g. malware, phishing, ransomware)
  • Explore threat data and information from multiple sources to identify new and potential risks
  • Development and optimization of analysis tools for the initial investigation of security incidents
  • Collaboration in ensuring the quality and development of our monitoring and detection systems
  • Support of security analysis tools and systems for cyber defense operations

Requirements

As a security analyst, you play a crucial role in protecting our digital assets by actively identifying, analyzing and responding to cyber threats. You are at the forefront of our defense and use your expertise in incident response and advanced tools such as SIEM systems (e.g. Splunk, QRadar) and EDR/XDR platforms to identify and neutralize attacks. Your day-to-day work includes carrying out comprehensive network security analyses and meticulous log analysis to identify the cause of incidents and secure our systems. We are looking for a person with strong analytical thinking skills to solve complex security problems, excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and resilience to survive under pressure in critical situations., You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related courses of study or completed vocational training combined with initial experience in the field of cyber security. You can also score points with the following:

  • Practical experience with static and dynamic software analysis tools
  • Profound knowledge of the IP protocol and the protocols based on it
  • Experience in a network environment and knowledge of protective measures to secure IT networks
  • Understanding attack methods against applications, systems, and networks
  • Very good German and English language skills (at least level B2)
  • Willingness to work shifts
