Job description

This is primarily a backend engineering role focused on APIs, cloud-native services, authentication, observability, and event-driven architecture - with hands-on React involvement as part of the responsibilities. You will own a mixed environment. Legacy components run on .NET / C# backends and Angular frontends, which you will maintain and modernize. New agentic development is built on a lightweight Python / Node / React stack optimized for fast edit-run-test loops and high agent throughput. You will drive phased modernization from legacy toward the new stack while keeping business-critical components stable., * Design and develop backend services primarily using Python.

  • Build and maintain REST APIs (FastAPI or similar frameworks preferred).
  • Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  • Contribute to monitoring and observability (Application Insights, Log Analytics, etc.).
  • Work within a microservices architecture leveraging Azure services.
  • Integrate with event-driven systems (Service Bus, Event Hub).
  • Deploy and manage services using Infrastructure-as-Code (Bicep preferred; Terraform acceptable).
  • Collaborate with .NET-based services and cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions or similar).
  • Ensure high code quality through testing best practices in Python.
  • Develop and maintain React-based frontend components to support product features.
  • Route and deliver work across Agents, the Team, and Self: Route work to Agents, engineers, or yourself; maximize agentic SDLC; work effectively with AI agents.

Requirements

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong Python expertise to join a cloud-native microservices platform running on Microsoft Azure. This role is Python-first, but requires solid React experience to support frontend collaboration and contribute to UI components when needed. The team is already strong in .NET, and we are specifically looking to strengthen Python expertise within the ecosystem., Python (Primary Skill - Mandatory)

  • 6+ years of backend development experience.
  • Strong, in-depth knowledge of Python (not scripting-level familiarity).
  • Experience building production-grade APIs and services in Python.
  • Solid understanding of:
  • Authentication & authorization
  • Observability & monitoring
  • Microservices design patterns
  • Event-driven systems.

Front End (React - Mandatory)

  • Proven hands-on experience with React in production environments.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Component-based architecture
  • State management and modern React patterns (hooks, etc.)
  • REST API integration
  • Ability to work across backend and frontend boundaries when needed.
  • Comfortable contributing actively to UI features (not just collaboration).

Cloud & Architecture:

  • Experience working in cloud environments (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable).
  • Familiarity with Azure services such as:
  • Container Apps / Function Apps / App Services
  • Storage Accounts
  • Service Bus / Event Hub
  • RBAC, Managed Identities, SPNs, App Registrations
  • Hands-on experience with Docker.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture.

DevOps & Infrastructure:

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).
  • Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Bicep, Terraform, ARM templates, Pulumi).
  • Understanding of container lifecycle and deployment pipelines.

AI Skills:

  • Hands-on Agentic SDLC experience.
  • Passion for building with AI agents and continuous learning.

.NET (Secondary Skill - Preferred):

  • Exposure to .NET Core.
  • Ability to collaborate within a .NET-based ecosystem.
  • Not required to be a primary .NET developer.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with FastAPI.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (Azure SQL, MongoDB, Cosmos DB).
  • Exposure to AI/LLM projects (not mandatory).
