Job description
We’re looking for a UX/UI Shopify Designer with a strong focus on designing engaging ecommerce experiences. This role is heavily centered around UX and UI design rather than backend development, partnering closely with the engineering team to improve the customer journey, increase conversions, and optimize the Shopify storefront., * Design intuitive and visually compelling ecommerce experiences.
- Create and iterate on user interfaces in Figma.
- Improve the customer journey through thoughtful UX design.
- Design mobile-first experiences and responsive interfaces.
- Support and collaborate on A/B testing initiatives.
- Work with Shopify themes to implement and refine design improvements.
- Partner with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
Availability: Part-Time, 20-22 hrs per week.

Requirements
- Upper-intermediate to fluent speaking and writing English. Able to have a real-time conversation.
- 4+ years of full-time hands-on UX/UI Designer experience.
- 4+ years of full-time hands-on Figma experience.
- 3+ years of full-time hands-on Shopify experience.
- 1+ years of full-time hands-on Javascript experience.
- 1+ years of full-time hands-on Liquid experience.
- Experience designing for Shopify storefronts.
- Advanced proficiency with Figma.
- Working knowledge of Liquid.
- Basic to intermediate JavaScript knowledge.
- Experience designing mobile-first experiences.
- Experience with A/B testing and conversion-focused design.
- Experience customizing Shopify Themes.
Nice to Haves
- Strong understanding of ecommerce best practices.
- Experience optimizing conversion rates (CRO).
- Experience designing customer journeys and improving overall user experience.
- Familiarity working with cross-functional product and engineering teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent demonstrated ability.

The Right Balance team is 55+ engineers going to 75+ by the end of the year. The current client size team is 200+ people. The timing is great to be a part of a rapidly growing team making meaningful contributions.
What happens if the engagement is completed?
Most of our engagements are long-term in nature. That said, if the current engagement is ramping down, we’ll present you with more long-term opportunities to transition into.
