Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical, Aerospace or Electrical Engineering (MS in Engineering helpful) \n

  • 7 - 10 years of design engineering experience \n

  • Familiarity with industry standards (MIL-STDs, IEC, ASTM etc) \n

  • Technical leadership experience is helpful \n

  • Proficient in software tools including Solid Works, CST, PLM, MRP \n

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS 9100 structure and requirements \n

  • Expertise with tools such as FMEA, FEA, DFM, DFT and statistical techniques \n

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members at all levels in the organization \n

  • Excellent problem solving, data analysis, deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills \n

  • Design & Development:\n \n

  • Develop RF and microwave components (e.g., coaxial connectors, adapters, cable assemblies, terminations, etc) to meet customer and market requirements. \n

  • Perform simulations and modeling using industry-standard tools (e.g., HFSS, ADS, CST). \n \n

  • Technical Analysis:\n \n

  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications. \n

  • Analyze customer requirements and propose feasible, cost-effective solutions. \n

  • Conducts design for manufacturability and cost assessments; recommends design/requirements changes as warranted \n \n

  • Testing & Validation:\n \n

  • Define and execute test plans for RF performance (VSWR, insertion loss, return loss, PIM, etc.). \n

  • Troubleshoot and resolve design or performance issues. \n \n

  • Collaboration:\n \n

  • Work closely with manufacturing, quality, sourcing and external suppliers to ensure design manufacturability and cost optimization. \n

  • Provide technical support to sales and application engineering teams. \n

  • Evaluate design concept requirements packages for feasibility, viability and risk. Leads preliminary design review activities to develop risk assessment and mitigation plans \n

  • Leads multiple engineering design projects covering the company’s range of technology and product areas \n \n

  • Continuous Improvement:\n \n

  • Stay current with RF/microwave finite element analysis and other design tools \n

  • Recommend design enhancements and new product opportunities. \n

  • Create and build a library of validated and reliable design standards \n

  • Collaborate cross functionally to develop efficient validation and qualification data \n \n
