Job description
We are seeking a Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer with Oracle DBA expertise to support enterprise Linux systems, database platforms, cybersecurity tools, and infrastructure modernization efforts within a DoD environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for Solaris-to-RHEL migrations, Oracle database administration, Trellix endpoint security management, STIG compliance, enterprise storage support, network troubleshooting, automation through cron scheduling, and production system sustainment.
This position requires strong hands-on experience across Linux, Oracle databases, networking, storage, security, and system administration., Lead migration of legacy Solaris environments to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Identify, assess, and document existing Solaris systems, dependencies, and migration requirements. Build and configure RHEL servers supporting Oracle databases, web applications, repositories, and SFTP services. Install, configure, patch, and maintain Linux operating systems and supporting software packages. Perform Oracle Database Administration including installation, configuration, monitoring, backup/recovery support, performance tuning, user administration, and troubleshooting. Implement and maintain DoD STIG compliance across Linux and Oracle environments. Deploy, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Trellix agents and endpoint security solutions. Configure and maintain Splunk forwarders and logging integrations. Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot cron jobs supporting automated system and database operations. Manage Linux user accounts, groups, permissions, and privileged access controls. Configure static IP addresses, routing, and NetworkManager settings within multi-subnet environments. Troubleshoot SSH, DNS, firewall, and connectivity issues across enterprise networks. Support Oracle database connectivity and application integrations. Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues involving Linux, storage, networking, and databases. Analyze NetApp storage environments and troubleshoot iSCSI connectivity issues. Investigate VLAN, trunking, routing, and gateway configurations impacting system availability. Validate production readiness through testing, reboot validation, and operational verification. Support production deployments, cutovers, and sustainment activities. Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and system diagrams.
Requirements
Active Top Secret Clearance or higher. 7+ years of Linux Systems Administration or Infrastructure Engineering experience. Experience supporting Oracle database installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9). Experience performing Solaris-to-Linux migrations. Experience implementing and maintaining DoD STIG compliance. Hands-on experience administering Trellix security agents and endpoint protection solutions. Experience creating, managing, and troubleshooting cron jobs and automated scheduled tasks. Experience with Splunk deployment and log forwarding. Experience with NetApp storage systems and iSCSI connectivity. Strong understanding of: VLANs Trunking Routing TCP/IP Networking SSH DNS Firewalls Experience with system patching, vulnerability remediation, and hardening. Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
