Job description

We are seeking a mid-level .NET Engineer for a 4-month contract engagement to support the modernization build of an internal centralized workflow queue application. This role will focus on SQL Server development and application support for a C#/.NET Framework legacy web application using Bootstrap for the user interface. The contractor will partner with business and technology stakeholders to help stabilize, enhance, and modernize application functionality while supporting the team’s delivery timelines., * Develop, enhance, and maintain SQL Server database objects, including stored procedures, tables, views, queries, and data logic supporting the workflow queue application.

  • Support modernization of a C#/.NET Framework 4.6 to 4.8 web application, including targeted updates to application logic, data access, and user-facing workflow functionality.
  • Assist with Bootstrap-based user interface enhancements to improve usability, consistency, and maintainability of the internal workflow queue.
  • Analyze existing application and database logic to identify gaps, troubleshoot defects, and recommend practical improvements that support modernization goals.
  • Collaborate with business partners, product owners, and technical team members to clarify requirements, validate workflow behavior, and support delivery milestones.
  • Participate in testing, defect resolution, code reviews, deployment readiness, and documentation updates as needed throughout the engagement.
  • Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and technical considerations clearly to the project team and stakeholders., This is a 4-month contract opportunity supporting a modernization effort for an internal centralized workflow queue application. The ideal candidate can contribute quickly, work independently with existing application and database logic, and partner closely with the team to deliver practical enhancements within the engagement window.

Requirements

  • Mid-level hands-on development experience with C# and .NET Framework, preferably .NET Framework 4.6 or similar legacy enterprise web applications.
  • Strong SQL Server experience, including writing and troubleshooting stored procedures, joins, queries, data updates, and performance-minded database logic.
  • Experience supporting ASP.NET web applications, including application troubleshooting, data access logic, and integration with SQL Server back ends.
  • Working knowledge of Bootstrap, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery for maintaining and enhancing web application interfaces.
  • Ability to understand existing code and database structures quickly, troubleshoot issues, and deliver pragmatic improvements within a defined contract timeline.
  • Experience with Visual Studio, GitHub or similar source control, Jira, Confluence, and standard software development lifecycle practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams.
  • Experience with internal workflow, case management, queue management, or operational processing applications is a plus.
